. Do you ever think of those children that no one loves? Those who have never had a home? Those who have never had a roof over their head or slept in a bed? Those who have never had a toy? Those who have never received anything good and nice from anybody? Children....
The "season" is starting for those who prepare to give to the children who don't know if the world has forgotten them.
I'm making the best add I can, to get you to jump on the wagon and do something, too. There are many ways to help out. My church chose to go along with the "shoebox project". We buy enough toys, school supplies, and clothes that fit in a shoebox. It's either for a boy or girl, and one marks the age of the receiver, too. One attaches $7 to get it there. That's it.
We've seen the video where they showed the kids who received the shoeboxes.
Awwwwwwwwww...... you have NEVER seen that kind of faces, the disbelieve that this is truly for them, the surprise, the joy....
My own son wanted to do it, so we chose to fill a box for a boy, and one for a girl. Since we don't have too much money, we went to the Dollar Store first. Oh my goodness.... my boy was really fired up.... he made me buy this, and that, he chose a transformer, a backhoe, monster trucks, he also told me to buy "fake jewelry" for the little girl, and a barbie, and other girly things.... In the end, we had to dig around to find the biggest shoeboxes possible, and needed to remove all the store wrappers and boxes to make the things fit.
And last, my son offered to pay one dollar toward the transportation fee for the boxes. One dollar is a lot for somebody who is 7 years old, has NO allowance and must do chores for earning money, a quarter at the time.
I was so proud, and I had so much fun...
Everybody willing can do something. There are also organizations who cater to all, without distinction of faith. Giving to the needy is a Christian "sport", but it's not limited to Christians.
Please remember to think of the children who have... never had anything

The real shame is that it needs to be a holiday or something for people to consider other more needy folks.
I understand you're trying to take advantage of the season and get some kids some stuff while the getting is good, but your blog starts out with the question about children, so that's what I think.
I'm actually having shirts printed that have a pic of poor, starving kids and a caption at the bottom. Instead of "Got Milk?"....mine says......"What Milk?"
Not for Christmas, it was just an idea. But now that you mention it........

Yesssssssssss.... go for it....
Of course you are right with the thought that one should and could do something anytime of the year. And I do.... Only now, indeed, the giving is good and made easy, and so we went with the flow... And it was a lot of fun, too....

Yes, he's a wonderful child
And yes, it is a great project. They say that most children who receive these boxes live in desperate circumstances.
Desperate.... that means "without hope"...
.... isn't that TERRIBLE...? .

dolls are good, balls are good, if you know the language - books are good, yo-yo's are good,
the point,, it needs to be something they can play with,,, without electricity, or without knowledge of a different culture.

When I was in college in a large city there was a program where poor, inner city schoolchildren wrote to santa, the teacher collected the notes, listed one or two "necessary" items the child needed, then the letters were forwarded on to people who wanted to play "santa" to the children.
I got a note from a 2nd grade girl who asked santa for something for each of her family members, but asked for nothing for herself. Her teacher added that she did not have a hat or mittens. I proceeded to get her a hat, scarf mittens, a barbie doll, & an item for each of her family.
It sure felt like christmas that year!!

Giving......... is where the action is............ it is where the rubber meets the road...
And for some reason.... when we are able to give..... we seem to be able to receive...
