I've written three poems, a shitty blog, and now this. This is my last try. If I don't get this right, I give up.
I don't make a lot of friends. And the ones I do make tend to grow tired of me in time. So the ones that stick around tend to be special to me. Even if they are just disney characters. 
In the time I've gotten to know you, I've seen you in many different lights. And in every one, you never cease to amaze me. So much that even I have a hard time believing you are a real person some times.
A friend at work saw your picture and said you were beautiful. It's funny that something intended as a compliment could piss me off, but it did. Because all he saw was your face. He didn't see what made you the amazingly beautiful person you are.
He didn't see how you make people laugh when they need cheering up, or the sharp word when they need reigned in. He didn't see the way you make people think about things they don't want to think about, but need to. He didn't see how you treat people with so much kindness that they need to be checked for diabetes. And he sure as hell didn't see the strength in you to do what needs to be done, in spite of the pain it would cause.
I hope you see what he didn't, because the rest of us do. And I hope any pain caused by recent events is short lived. You deserve better, and you will have better.
P.S. Remember, Disney movies always have a happy ending.

She sounds like a wonderful person to know, but if HE didn't 'get' her it's probably for the best even if it might not feel that way to her right now. Seems you appreciate her and, in my experience, those who don't make friends easily or only hold onto a few are usually those worth knowing ... but that's a whole other blog.

It sounds like you are talking about so many nice women that guys have dumped. Your friend sounds nice and deserves someone who will love her.
