My friend in North Carolina was in line at the grocery store and the kid in front of him was wearing his pants around his buttocks with boxer shorts. While he was wrestling to get money from his wallet and hold groceries, his pants kept falling down to the point it was holding up the line. So... my friend blurted out "Are you stupid?? Pull your God damn pants up !!"
That brought a round of applause from other people within earshot of him.
A few weeks ago I asked two teenage girls about boys who dress like this and they told me it means "they are available for sex" sorta like a calling card. Both girls thought it was a stupid fad and one told me it was something that originally started in jail when the gay boys used it to attract others.
Well, that's my research project on urban culture.
At least we have a way to determine who's who from 100 feet or less.

good for him...I personally hate that style...I thought it had to do with rap though and the way rappers dressed.

my philosophy is that if I want to see you naked, I'll take your clothes off myself. Otherwise, keep your crack to yourself.

I don't like it, myself, but I'd never scream at a person because I didn't like the way they were dressed

Here in Utah... If your underwear or crack is showing, you can receive a obscenity ticket.. I think the plumbers can get away with it... but not the kids...

I never knew that, it means they are available for sex? Interesting. I just thought it was a stupid style. A few years ago I drove down to visit my bf, I stopped off at a drug store to buy him some candy as a surprise, there was a customer in the store, perhaps 26 years old, hard to tell, gorgeous face, could have been a model, I got in back of him in line and he had the pants pulled down with the boxers sticking out, geeeeez.

This is another rebellious in your face style. I think that some of the boxer shorts are either sewn to the pants or they use velcro. To me it's rather clownish and if the stylin person has to run, it can't be done. It does no harm. Seeing boxer shorts isn't like looking at bikini underwear. Just another youthful short lived style because of it lacks function. I had some neighbor kids who had the belt line just above the knees. They waddled down the street. Too damn funny!

Some people are taking it to the next level and showing off their ass cleavage. Try standing in line behind some stupid asshole like that. Also, these are same dumb asses that wear the base ball caps skewed at 45 degrees like they just got bitch slapped and their hat has spun around their head a few times like Pat Sajak's wheel of Fortune. Wannabe Compton transplants.
I can't see any self-pride or respect in one making one's self appear like the village idiot.
Am I lacking cultural vision? What's sooooooo cool about having the public view your brown streaked underwear or even your ass cleavage for that matter?
"L" ........ losers.
Oh, I don't need to witness women's thong strings either. Either get naked, or stay covered. Fvck the tease show.

I think it's silly and ugly, but no harm done. We used to wear army jackets and ripped jeans and the older generation sniffed at us the same way; it was the beginning of the end of civilization! Rebellion is rebellion and always will be...you can actually find written quotes from the earliest ROMANS saying the same thing! Could be worse, you know.

i was in 7-11 once & a guy was undressed like that. The most digusting thing was he had a "skid " mark on his boxers. Needless to say I lost my desire for that coffee & danish. Yuck! I always wondered if eventually they get carbal Tunnel from using that hand to contantly hold up their pants.

I would think it's a crime deterrent wearing your pants so low. How can you snatch a woman's purse at the mall and run away?

The best thing we can do is to take pictures. 15 or 20 years from now that will be "so old" and the kids of the day will be onto something even stupider but you'll still have those pictures and can then embarrass any former 'butt cracker' by showing his kids what Dad dressed like in the 'old days'.
Just look at those idiots from the 60s. Same thing.

I would have loved to have seen that! I had no idea what it meant, but wondered. Thanks for clearing it up. I saw on the news once where one of these kids had stolen something and was quickly caught because his pants fell when he tried to hold onto the stolen object and run.
