I am a big music fan, of all types..But my favorite is country music. At one time i did like Garth Brooks, atleast some of his songs. The more i watched him the more it seemed {to me} he was just in it for the money. I am sure that will anger some on here but it's just an opinion, just like as#holes- we all have one.
I read today, yet again he is coming out of Retirement for another album and tour..How many times can these big shots retire, come back out then retire again..He has done this several times now. He has a huge fan base but it is a bit misleading, to me coming out of retiement for the "last tour and cd" scam..Hell, just make an album go on tour take a break. Quit using the damn retirement threat to sell more albums/ tickets....

If we did that with a business... {open--going-out-of-business sale --- open--going-out-of-business sale ---open--going-out-of-business sale ---open--going-out-of-business sale........} WE would be put in prison for fraud!

Really, is it important. As long as the music is good, I'd listen, and, maybe, buy the album. Is it any different than, say, a prolific painter, who suddently takes a break, then, just as suddenly, starts creating again, filling once dry galleries. If the fans really cared, the album sales would go bust, and people would stay away from the concerts in droves. I, too, am somewhat annoyed by the performers that pull this crap, but am I really angry, or just being a tad jealous that I can't do the same, damn thing. Only food for thought.
Peace

Sorry to be the one who rains on your parade.. but isn't it just possible that he REALLY loves his music and loves to sing? I mean who among us wouldn't want to get paid good money to do what we love doing?

He never did much for me . I always thought he was a puggie guy that had a good voice. I liked some songs others I didn't. My fav. will always be Alan Jackson but he get too honky tonk sometimes. so if I don't like it don't buy it. Also wish Tracy Lawerence would get back in the limelight. Hes the one got me listening to country music.'"I See it Now" really got to me.

very true..................I used to be a huge fan of his as well. He is a very talented individual and (so I've heard) a very good person. I do have to agree though that all the startin and stoppin has to cease. I read last week that KISS is doing one more farewell tour.............LOL. How many times can they say farewell?

I understand folks need money or miss being out on stage, but my point is when the word retire is used, that should be it! When these people do this every couple of years it has everything to do with the money. They know they will sell more tickets if people are mislead into thinking this is the last chance to see them before they "retire"...give me a freagin break

It's true...he did say he was "retiring" at the time...quitting to take care of his kids. Now he's playing in Vegas a few weekends during the next six months or so...so is he now "semi" retired? He actually used to be my favorite...since he retired I've moved on to my new man..Toby Keith

Yeah, the guy said he was retiring to raise his kids. Then he came out to perform on "special occasions." And now he is gonna have an act in Vegas. Unfortunately, for people like you & me, he used to dominate the country music scene. I just hope it doesn't get like that again with him. Yeah, I've never been a fan of his either. I think we are in the minority though, Scratch.

I agree,so many have played that line before it becomes boring, each time a little of their magic is lost because you can see right through what they are doing.

Oh no Scratch, he is not in it for the money. I saw on the news today where he is doing a show in Vegas and he ONLY wanted to charge the audience $50 for each ticket to see his show. But he said they told him that people like Beyonce was charging up to $1500 see their show. So he agreed to sell the tickets for $125. What happened to $50 and why did he more than double it?
