Dreary Saturday Fall morning.
Procrastinator's Heaven!!!

I was going to switch over the laundry to the dryer
and found my daughter's clothes from last night.
In folding.. I wondered, "Just how many hoodies
have I bought for this girl over the past couple
of years??"

The Track & Field hoodie.. on the back says:
*Running With The Devil*
Independence High School Blue Devils .. :)

Two Basketball hoodies .. one says:
"The Surgeon General Says It's OK To Smoke... The Competition"

*2011* Senior Class hoodie.

Wrestling ... wait a minute!!! oh yeah... this one
belongs to her buddy, Michael.

Except for the wrestling one... they all have her name
one the back. I remember when the kids were younger,
a safety point was to not have kids' names where
they could be read by strangers... coats, shirts, backpacks, etc.

She will be 17 in a few months.... and in a blink of an eye
will be 18 & graduating high school ...and off....
And strangers will learn her name.

I've been a mom for over 32 years now and it doesn't
get easier... It just gets different.

You will look back on this time and smile at the great memories. I remember times looking at my son's and thinking.....who raised you?....but then, in time, they do remember all that we taught them.....

I can identify! My oldest is almost 36 and I have 5 grandkids... I still recall when I was 21 with 2 small girls on my own....

Thanks for bringing back good memories

Hmmmmm...my math may be a little fuzzy here, but, with her being 17 & you having been her mom for over 32 years - something there just ain't kosher...

Okay, I saw header in your forum & my mind got ahead of me. After all, what I am I suppposed to think, when the first thing I read is "Procreation Situations". I'm thinking, Jen's pregnant?

Instead you are talking about your daughter, growing up, preparing to fly from the nest. The good news is, her mom has prepared her well, for what she will face in life. Well, that and the fact that Jen is not pregnant.
