November 5th 6th and 7th Will be holding a retreat in Pigeon forge designed just for abused children. Why do we do what we do? Take a look at the letter below from DFCS. How could one NOT want to reach out and give these children hope. In tough economic times the abuse rate soars. Wont you please say a prayer for these children and spread the word that there is hope.
Hello Paul,
I have a 15 year old girl in state custody that has a two year old daughter. The situation is that she was brought into custody due to her step-grandfather sexually abusing her. Once I became involved in the case I was shocked to discover that not only has this 15 year old been sexually abused by the step grandfather, her cousin raped her and is the father of her two year old daughter. ( Her two year old daughter does not talk. She has no hearing problems and as young as she is the only recommendation I have received is to have her in daycare to learn with others her own age. After two months of daycare and being in foster care where everyone works with her there has been little to no progress) This 15 year old girl has suffered sexual abuse all her life. She was sexually abuse by her brother when she was five years old. She was sexually abused by her step father. The entire family tree is joined by incest. This 15 year old child's mother has severe mental health issues and tested positive for meth, morphine and marijuana and on top of that; has reunited with her husband who sexually abused this child. Her older sister has also experienced the same things. Please let me know and if you think she will be one that you would choose for the retreat,she needs to know that there are people that care.

What a wonderful job you are doing Paul. I will never understand how anyone can mistreat a child. It is beyond my wildest imaginations how someone could hurt an innocent baby. I have cried many times when I hear the stories of abused children. We had a guy abuse his child for years. She testified and the courts gave him less than two years. A mere slap on the hand!

I am so proud of you for doing this for children who are so poorly mistreated.
It is so difficult for me to understand what men get from molesting such young girls.It is sickening.I know young boys get molested also.Anyone who does this to a child is not fit to live in our world.They really need to do something about all this abuse.

I can't wait to meet her and make her feel like the very special PRINCESS she should always have been in the first place. 
We will have such a great time with the children. 
My son, too, can't wait to get there. Every day he talks of the retreat....
This is when "work" totally looses its negative meaning and can fully be replaced by "joy" and "privilege"
