In order to re-connect the politicians and Wall Street with the average American, let them walk in our shoes for a bit.

Have them make ends meet with unemployment benefits, then a few months without...
Make them and their families live without health coverage, without vision or dental plan.
Give them a clunker to drive and no extra money to repair it.
And... best of all... have them fill out the 561 forms necessary for the $39 assistance they qualify for, in triplicate, with notarized copies of proof of income and last 5 years' tax returns....

Make it all mandatory, for at least six months, for all elected politicians and all CEO's who have received government aid of any kind.

I bet things would very much improve for the "common people"....

And require then to hold down a real job...no more career politicians.

Cut their pay every year too and raise their taxes.

I'm absolutely certain that this kind of "incentive" would help greatly to get the health care reform done in record time...

HECK YEA! Its exactly what they need..They are out of touch with the American people....and worse yet..they are NOT LISTENING TO US.

When you read about their plans..they talk about us like were some kind of cattle herd to manage...It Infuriates me! Were not cattle..and those jerks are no better than any of us..

As far as Im concerned..THEY ARE FAR WORSE..they have comitted crimes far worse that any murder and theif in the penitentuaries...

They have stolen our future with their kissing the azzes of the Shadow Gov...and they have had people murdered so they cant testify against them...

Criminals and theives..

I agree...NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS....NO MORE LAWYERS....NO MORE WALL STREET MONEY MONGERS....

Its time to freaking clean house..

Strength in numbers..We need to all stick together....and we also need to support the GOOD politicans as well..so they can do their job without fear...there are some really good ones too that actually do care about us more than their pocket books...

I came up with a plan for a movie...maybe what's his name would make it...
plot is this:
Politicians have to use a % for their purchases....lunch =% of their salary....a Burger King or McDonald's burger???fine... if the "ordinary man" makes $7 hr(new pay raise for standard hourly) and a burger cost $6.00, then the politician should pay for that same meal the same % of what his HOURLY pay would be....

oh btw...his hourly pay would be determined by INCLUDING all of his perks at their $ equivilant before dividing hours worked and $ earned to arrive at an hourly salary.....

He would NOT be able to pay for ANYTHING less than the % rate the "common man" has to endure...that includes the cost of his car...insurance...medical plans...food...clothing...and shelter....

But...1frantastic...isn't this exactly what is happening? ...
People live literary in separate worlds , depending on their financial standing.
The car wealthy guy buys DOES cost 10 times more than the one poor guy buys.
Same for the house, clothing , education , etc.
Though, you are right that it doesn't come even close to the % the item of the same category costs poor people, because their income is not 10 but 500 times higher...

newlife2006...

Here is the difference.... once they paid the outrageous bills for the mansion, private education, the Lamborghini, the fancy restaurants, and all the other stuff, they still HAVE health insurance and will not fall into the financial hole if their health falters.

Also.... when they have, say, 10% left after all that spending for "necessities".... that would be : $40,000 for the $400,000 salary (not counting benefits) for the president, and something like $10 mio. for the guy with the $100 mio. bonus (calculated only just on the bonus).

I'm not sure about most other "average" Americans, but it seems to me that I could amuse myself pretty good with even $10,000 "spending money"....

So you see, and even frantic can see.... the percent deal isn't coming close to some kind of "walking in our shoes"....

the % I am speaking about means if the hamburger costs the "common man 90% of his hourly wage, then the politician MUST spend 90% of HIS hourly wage on a hamburger!
it would mean IF the "common man" spends $6 of his $7 hr wage...the congressman/politician/CEO would have to spend $9000 of his $10,000 hrly wage .......guess we need to figure out what the hourly wage is before it makes sense...

all the other expenses would be on the same ratio...so the amounts would really be outrageous....as they ACTUALLY are for the "common man"...

ya think they would complain for a $50,000 steak? Course his kids would want $500 fries with that too....
