I was watching newt gingrich on Fox news tonight. He was spouting off about what the forefathers would do with todays situation. Take back power on a local level, a state level, and let washington know whos in charge. I had 2 thoughts.

1, I want to smack that pig f*cker. There is nothing I hate more than a hypocrite. He was making such a push at clinton for having an affair, and yet he was doing the same. When you do something like that, whatever you say after, is kind of invalidated. That and he is riding the anti obama and democrat sentiment. He was making it WAY too obvious.

2, How did this happen in a somewhat democratic society?

We let it happen.

Maybe not us exactly, but our parents and their parents. They/we trusted people who said anything to make us believe in them. Thats not the problem. We left them unchecked. We either put our blind trust in them because, A) they lie so well. Or B) we are so wrapped up in our own little world that we dont care until it effects us.

I have been interested in politics since I was a child. I was a Reagan fan, I didnt like Bush's new world order, hated clinton, liked Bush, but was pissed with how he handled some aspects and crisis. Katrina anyone? I believe he did what he thought was right. I honestly believe he was upset when he heard how many died. You can hide emotions on your face, but not in your eyes.

How can we fix it?

I dont think we can. People in large masses are stupid. And thats being as nice as I can, understating rather than be liberal. People follow what they want to hear. If you tell them what they want to hear, they will follow you to oblivion. The only way we as Americans will finally get a clue is to have the worst case scenario happen. I am talking a total loss of freedom. Only then will we know what we had, and maybe from there we can start over again. It goes with my philosophy about ending all wars. We need one so horrible, so horrific, that all mankind would never want to hurt another human again. Granted this would have to be on a scale so large that billions would have to be systematicaly executed. Someone that would make Hitler look like a really great guy in comparison. Then and only then could we understand our follies. By that time it would be too late. Maybe it would serve what was left of mankind as a strong enough warning, maybe not. I have my money against humanity.

Either that, or we need a true leader. One that will tell us the truth for once. Yes I know, being called an idiot is not on my to do list ever, but if a spade is a spade, the call it as such and STOP BLOWING SUNSHINE UP OUR ASSES. We need someone to tell us to get of our asses and do something. Be vigilant and active, not lazy and sedintary. Do something in our local government instead of bitching about what is happening when you cant even be bothered to go to a town meeting. (or whatever you go to in the city)

Its time for all of us to get off our asses. Stop thinking the other guy will take care of it because, the other guy is waiting on you. If you cant march in protest, send e mails to congress, the senate, and the whitehouse expressing your dissent. In proper form that is, swearing and vulgarity have no place.
