..If you enjoy going out to friends or a cafe,, for TEA Do you get scones ? we have a great tradition here...Cream Teas..at the Weekend ..nothing like a hot home baked scone with strawberry jam ..and Cream and a Pot of Tea to share....c[_] ,There used to be ...only a few Varieties -just Plain,, or Sultana..or.Cheese..or Treacle [syrup]....... "drop scones ,,or girdle scones are like Mini Pancakes]savoury or sweet Now.....!! you can choose... Pumpkin ..chocolate chip..Blueberry ..Apple ..Banana....Saffron.....? Now about Muffins, ,A Scottish Muffin is different ,,,from an English Muffin What an American calls an English Muffin ..is what a Scots person calls a CRumpet! a Scone .. might be a Biscuit??...... but A biscuit ..is a Cookie!! ..... it can be very Confusing :) Whatver ..you prefer...just ..Enjoy

Did you know there are locations called 'Scone' and 'Crumpet?'
I just bought a huge loaf of freshly baked tiger bread. I brought it home and my son and I ate bread and butter and nothing else. I rarely buy butter, but I can see it becoming a bad habit.

Once at a "chain" coffee shop I had what they labeled as a scone. Not sure if it was really that. All I recall is that it was very dry, barely sweet, & not much taste to it. American english muffins are Scottish biscuits?? Hmmm I've found that if you mention 'biscuit' here, the first thought are 'baking powder biscuits' which are often served slit, with a creamy sausage gravy (biscuits & gravy). Give me a good old fashioned chocolate chip cookie anyday . . . it goes great with all beverages!!

Theres a tiny old fashioned tea shop in a small town called Bradford apon Avon near Bath, the waitesses dress in Victorian costume and the cakes crumpets and scones are made to old recipes.
You sit amongst old antiques and a ticking grand father clock.. its a fabulous place.
Heres the link.

Wow! Food talk in the morning!! But girls,...I'm on a diet now of sorts and have to lose more weight! OH well, what we do to be beautiful!!
Anyway, from your list Lep, I would probably go for the old fashioned Apple. Now I have a couple of questions though... do they have cinnamon scones?
I also wanted to ask... is a Napoleon a French thing??? I have assumed but have learned that we cannot "assume" things. Its my favorite dessert if it's done like the ones here in the US. I once lived near a Jewish deli restaurant that made everything homemade, and were known for their desserts. One of them was a Napoleon with a rasberry glaze on top. It was the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They've closed now though....
