I'm no poet but wrote that in 2 minutes. I should be upset but I feel a sense of relief. I have been a waitress for 6+ years. The last 2 years I had gotten to where I could kill someone. You have never seen stupid until you wait tables. The incident above the woman wanted us to separate the spices. It cannot be done. I wasn't rude but explained that it cannot be done. I told her we would work it out. Our solution? Grill her naked trout and drizzle with lemon. Not what she wanted but a compromise. She said I was rude and then kissing the manager's butt when he came to table.  Anyone that knows me knows I am not a butt kisser....ever. Oh and she was so dissatisified with my service she left 20% as a tip. 
The restaurant I worked for is so well known for giving food away it's a joke. So people say food is great, service is great and later call home office to complain about food, service, the lighting, etc. The response? Free food!!
I am filing my unemployment as we speak and perusing the want ads. Wish me luck!

The waitress comes over to take the man's order. He says "Just a cup of coffee, P-I-S-S !"
The waitress jerks her apron off, huffs back into the kitchen and tells the boss "I quit, I ain't taking no more of this abuse".
The boss says "Hold on now, let me get to the bottom of this"
He asks the customer "What do you mean by insulting my waitress with P-I-S-S ?"
Customer says "Oh, I didn't mean anything by that, it is short for Put In Some Sugar"
Boss asks "Hey, thats pretty good, got any more like that?"
Customer "Yea, D-U-M-B"
The boss thinks for a minute then says "Ya got me there, what does it mean?"
Customer says "DUMB, now go back to the kitchen and let me drink my coffee !"

Right now I am weighing my options. I am considering becoming a Real Estate Agent. I can finish the course load in less than a month and viola. I'm smart enough and out going enough to do so. I have been wanting to do something else and this may have just been the kick in the ass I needed.
And yes I was fired for supposedly being rude. Again she left me 20% tip. You do not tip especially a good tip if server is rude.

I am considering becoming a Real Estate Agent.
doesnt real estate take time, after the sale is signed, how soon after do you guys get your commission? isnt the house market down at the moment?

I sell mostly commercial property, but the housing market is bouncing back. I think it would be a great choice to go in to realestate. Good luck to you!

I'm sorry this happened.. but also surprised that a manager could fire you over something like this after all the time you worked for them. I'd get advice if I were you.

Charli---- only 13 ( I may be mistaken) states are right to work states. Meaning they have to give you a reason to fire you. Alabama is not one of them. So they can fire you any reason.

Everyone else thanks so much. The next 2 weeks are going to be rough. I lost my part time job in May and have gone through my savings since then. I have just a few bucks til then. I hate, hate, hate going on the dole but my food stamps start November 2 and hopefully unemployment very soon. I can squeak by on that until I find something else. :)
