Funny man Soupy... you made a lot of people laugh.

If memory serves me correctly, it was Soupy who told kids to go through their parents wallets and mail a dollar to him at the TV station. It was supposed to be a joke. He had no idea money would be pouring into the station...

My Dad worked at WXYZ TV in Detroit in the 50's with Soupy Sales. Soupy and his wife had dinner with my parents on a few occasions. How can you forget White Fang, Black Tooth, and Pookie? I'll never forget the cork in the hole in the wall with a sign above it that said "Don't Touch". Me too, watched Soupy every time he was on TV. I loved Soupy Sales, those were the good old days, the shows were so innocent back then.

I didn't realize until I read the write up last nite about him dying that Soupy was born in North Carolina, which is where I live. RIP, Soupy.
