I quite agree..... countries receiving the huge influx of immigrants have not requested that the immigrants become missionaries....
If they are good enough to open their doors.. respect what is there, do not attempt to replicate the horrors they are fleeing from.
Immigrants should settle down, relax, find work, and adapt to their new surroundings without attempting to inflict their problems on the kind host people.

I agree Tiramisu,we have it here in UK get really fed up when our local council will not put up Christmas decorations or send out Christmas cards because it might offend our Muslim friends... what about offending us! When you go to some of the Muslim countries you are not allowed to openly talk about Christianity, we are required to respect their countries religion,how about they respecting ours!!!

What I find Hilarious...is you have yet to actually say anything of importance, it's all rambling and tarradiddles, little cheap shots of no substance...  try engaging not raging...
It's not important who gave the speech, what your missing is the speech should be given over and over and played to Nobama, so he can finally get it, as well as it should be played to Congress, so they understand how to be an American and stand up for our country, while others stand up for theres. I seem to recall (now Im not sure about this tho maybe just the teachings of a crazy liberal 8th grade teacher  ) but there was a time when you had to be able to read and speak english to become a citizen and had to pass a test IN ENGLISH about this country.. I know our crazy liberal 8th grade teacher required us to pass the citizenship test for our history and government grade altho I doubt many kids nowadays could pass said test.  .but the thing was to come to be part of THIS country ..not another one..YOU adapted ... not the country to YOUR likings.. otherwise WTF come here?? if being in AMERICA and BEING an American (not mex american. afro american etc etc ) was NOT what you wanted to be??? The instant I read this blog entry it was clear that something was wrong. The Australians have dealt with a variety of immigration, population and nationalist issues to be sure, but I can't imagine one of their leaders be it Howard or Rudd coming off sounding like Toby Keith having an argument in a bar. The tipoff should be the use of ALL CAPS emphasizing unnecessarily aggressive and impolitic statements mixed into the piece that no world leader that close to a trading partner as significant as Indonesia would make. Several leaders in Australia made the simple and direct point that Australian law applies and Sharia law doesn't. They felt no need to equivocate as some in Britain have.. but NEITHER did they have to start trumpeting their faith in the Word as if they were at an evangelical Sunday picnic! The urge to shout at other kinds of people "YOU AIN'T S****!" is an inherently American one.. brought down to us by our extremely influential Scots-Irish forebears, as is the impulse to loudly proclaim our fealty to the blood and our ability to drink anyone under the table. Australians have a good dose of this too.. but they also tend to be a fairly stoic lot and not given to the kind of grandstanding and second guessing that we in America often do. In other words.. instead of blurting out "YOU LIE!!!" the Aussie might point out "You got your facts wrong their, mate!" after the speech has ended.

According to this email forward, former Australian Prime Minister John Howard informed Muslims living in Australia in no uncertain terms that they should leave the country if they wished to live under Islamic Sharia law. The message claims that the then Australian government was intent on targeting Muslim radicals "in a bid to head off potential terror attacks". The email also quotes a no-holds-barred diatribe about immigration supposedly delivered by John Howard. The message suggests that political leaders in Canada and the United States would do well to follow the lead of the Australian Prime Minister with regard to immigration policy.
However, although the message does contain elements of truth, it is in fact highly misleading and inaccurate. At the outset, it should be noted that the message is now quite outdated. Versions of the email began circulating back in 2005. Since then, there has been a change of government in Australia. The Howard Government was resoundingly defeated in November 2007 and the current Australian Prime Minister is Labor's Kevin Rudd. However, the message contains no date and some non-Australian recipients may therefore wrongly assume that it refers to current events rather than events that occurred several years ago in a somewhat different political climate.
The first part of the message suggests that Prime Minister Howard told Muslims who wished to live under Islamic Sharia law that they should get out of Australia. This is partly true in the sense that a high profile Australian political leader did make comments suggesting that Islamic extremists who desired to turn Australia into an Islamic state should leave and that Howard condoned such strongly worded rhetoric. However, it was in fact then Federal Treasurer Peter Costello who actually uttered the comments. A November 2005 article in the Herald Sun notes:

Then Federal Education Minister Dr Brendan Nelson was also quoted in the media as stating that "those who do not accept and teach Australian values should 'clear off'".
The message also claims that John Howard had given government support to spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. This element of the message is true. An August 2005 article in The Age notes:
Mosques and Islamic schools will be targeted by intelligence agencies as the federal government tries to stamp out homegrown terrorism and extremists.
Prime Minister John Howard said on top of trying to promote Australian values in Islamic schools, the government would monitor what was said in certain schools and mosques to ensure they did not foster terrorism.
Asked whether he was prepared to "get inside" mosques and schools to ensure there was no support for terrorism, Mr Howard was blunt.
"Yes, to the extent necessary," Mr Howard told Southern Cross radio.
Mr Howard qualified the above stance by making clear that his government was not trying to interfere with religious freedoms but only gather intelligence on potential religious or material support for terrorist activities within the Australian Islamic community:
"I have no desire and nor is it the government's intention to interfere in any way with the freedom or practice of religion.
"We have a right to know whether there is, within any section of the Islamic community, a preaching of the virtues of terrorism, whether any comfort or harbour is given to terrorism within that community."
The next part of the message transcribes what is claimed to be a speech delivered by John Howard detailing his views on immigration. The piece calls on immigrants to learn English, adapt to Australian values and lifestyle and pointedly reminds them that they always have the right to leave if they are unhappy in their adopted country.
However, the quoted words were not made by John Howard and were circulating in various forms years before he supposedly uttered them. In fact, the words were originally intended for an American audience and were part of a longer piece penned by Barry Loudermilk, a US Air Force veteran and columnist for a local newspaper in the American state of Georgia. Loudermilk wrote the article as a means of expressing his personal views on patriotism and immigration in post-9/11 America.
The article struck a chord with many readers in the US and elsewhere and it soon spread far and wide via email and other means. At some point, versions adapted to Australia, the UK, and elsewhere began circulating. Finally, the Australianized version of Loudermilk's article was falsely attributed to John Howard and tacked on to the original, more accurate, variant of the above email forward (quoted below):

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament.
"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television.
"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.
Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off," he said.
Thus, while the more lengthy version of message that includes Loudermilk's article is still partially factual, it is nonetheless outdated, contains inaccurate information and may perpetrate a quite misleading understanding of Australia's policies on immigration in general and Muslims in particular. Taken out of context, and with the falsely attributed Loudermilk article thrown into the mix, this email may give the impression that Australia is intolerant of migrants, especially those of the Muslim faith. This is not the case. One of Australia's great strengths is its rich cultural diversity and it welcomes migrants from all parts of the world and with many and varied systems of belief.
Sending on factually dubious information such as this is unlikely to be helpful and may even add to the cultural divisions and misunderstandings that plague our strife-torn world.
Update:February 2009
Early in 2009 I began receiving versions of the above email that named Australia's current Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, as the person responsible for the supposed anti-Muslim stance. It seems that some rather unimaginative prankster has simply substituted "Rudd" for "Howard" in the text and replaced the photograph of John Howard with one of Kevin Rudd before sending on the message. The message is otherwise identical to the example included above. The "Rudd" version strays even further from the truth than the original. None of the comments or opinions included in the message have any connection whatsoever with Kevin Rudd or his Government.

Could be that it works for those who believe. But I don't ask anyone who doesn't believer to go no where in His name. It is their prerogative to believe how they want.

Even if I was erronious in my blog...I agree...we welcome any and all to our country(countries)....and I, myself, respect any and all ...no matter where they come from or their beliefs. But when SOME people bitch and complain about their new home...while receiving more benefits than we, as Americans....then I get my pantyhose in a knot.

If you believe this is a country that respects beliefs, that should respond to your problems with how things are going, and that it is someone's prerogative to believe how they want.. then how can you simultaneously say that if someone's beliefs go against those of the majority or the mainstream that they should leave the country? The problem here is that you keep defining "we" as this mythical group of REAL Americans who are so put upon because all of these OTHER Americans who you define as THEY are not really citizens with a voice and power in this country. So when you vote in Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush and others think that's terrible.. you rejoice and say too bad... but when others vote for Bill Clinton or Barack Obama.. THEY'RE supposed to say.."oops.. sorry we chose the man and policies you disagree with... maybe we should draw straws again."
That's not how this place works. This is not any more your country than it is my country. You get one vote just like I do. Because you live in a countryside with a more cohesive, homogenous and smaller population spread out over sparsely populated territory doesn't make YOUR America any more real than MY America in a large city with more than 15,000,000 people who live in houses and apartments, drive cars, send kids to school, and worship at churches or DON'T worship at all is. And by the way.. the things that make America AMERICA to people WITHIN this country and WITHOUT it.. are often done in big cities of the east and west coast. Not EVERYTHING it's true... but the stuff like blue jeans and cars and high tech electronics and our world renowned universities are much of what makes this the wealthiest and most powerful country on Earth. It's those coastal "outlier" states like Michigan, Oregon, and California doing a LOT of the heavy lifting for the big middle. We take pride in the things being accomplished in our neck of the woods and we see it as continuous with America's great history not as some odd and perverse and perverted weirdness being imposed on people from Oklahoma. LONG before there were farmers settled in Oklahoma.. there were Americans living in San Francisco, San Antonio, Miami, and New Orleans. THEY are the real FIRST AUTHENTIC Americans not the folks who set up shop in the great undiscovered wilderness 120 years ago.
And they are are of all races... hefty helpings of hispanics, blacks, chinese, Jews, and whites. We are REAL Americans.. we do REAL American things... we project the image of America to the world and negotiate the money and the power that has brought great wealth to the American people. Left to timorous bigots .. America would quickly fold up and move into 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th place behind Europe, China or even India... each of these groupings have educated middle classes larger than the entire population of the U.S. and Canada combined. And these nations are moving.... while we're sitting here arguing over whether Obama is a Communist... COMMUNIST China is expected to grow its economy by nearly 10 percent in the next year with Indonesia and India expecting similar levels of growth. America will not be #1 in ten years if we don't maintain our institutions. We can't afford to allow radical free marketeers to brand anyone as Communist who would preserve large American owned corporations in favor of rolling the dice to see if Toyota, Honda or BMW becomes the biggest carmaker in the world. Sure you'd screw the unions.. you'd decimate Michigan and lots of workers in Tennessee would pocket the difference and have factory jobs.. but where does the money and the profits end up.. in Tokyo or Bavaria... NOT in America. And yes... in Tokyo they have national healthcare and you can bank at the public post office.. yet somehow I don't see Japan being called a Communist country. So let's not call America one just yet.

a tragedy than the holocaust against israel in world war 2.
when israel and islam unify and unite against the infidels
such as all those who disagree with them, we will go under

The Irish Potato Famine of the 1840s

More than a million Irish people--about one of every nine--died in the Great Potato Famine of the 1840s. To the Irish, famine of this magnitude was unprecedented and unimaginable.
When the famine hit in 1845, the Irish had grown potatoes for over 200 years--since the South American plant had first arrived in Ireland. During this time, the lower classes had become increasingly dependent on them. Potatoes provided good nutrition, so diseases like scurvy and pellagra were uncommon. They were easy to grow, requiring a minimum of labor, training, and technology--a spade was the only tool needed. Storage was simple; the tubers were kept in pits in the ground and dug up as needed. Also, potatoes produce more calories per acre than any other crop that would grow in northern Europe. This was important to the Irish poor, who owned little, if any, of their own land. Often, a whole family could live for a year on just one acre's worth.
It was this reliance on one crop--and especially one variety of one crop--that made the Irish vulnerable to famine. As we now know, genetic variation helps protect against the decimation of an entire crop by pests, disease, or climate conditions.
At the beginning of the 19th century, a Dublin Society survey recorded at least a dozen varieties of potato cultivated in the county of Kilkenny alone. Then, adults could still remember when most of the poor raised oats, barley, or rye, along with beans and other green vegetables. But according to Ó Gráda, this diversity had largely disappeared by the 1840s. He notes that while some people warned that Ireland's reliance on potatoes might prove disastrous, no one likely conceived of a famine as complete as what occurred. The poor certainly could not; it is doubtful they could have avoided it anyway, given the social and political conditions of their lives.
In 1845, the fungus Phytophthora infestans arrived accidentally from North America. A slight climate variation brought the warm, wet weather in which the blight thrived. Much of the potato crop rotted in the fields. Because potatoes could not be stored longer than 12 months, there was no surplus to fall back on.
Although the potatoes were ruined completely, plenty of food grew in Ireland that year. Most of it, however, was intended for export to England. There, it would be sold--at a price higher than most impoverished Irish could pay.
In fact, the Irish starved not for lack of food, but for lack of food they could afford. To buy food, many sold or pawned everything they owned. Often, this included the tools by which they made their living. Other people ate the food intended for rent, and the landlords quickly evicted them. By the next planting season, many farmers had no land to plant on, nor tools to plant with. Those who did often had nothing to plant. There were few potatoes, and no money with which to buy seed.
