And it was the happiest day of my life
Easy Tedder was/is a one of a kind person one that all the guys looked up to and all the girls had a crush on. His hair was blond, long and kept tied in a ponytail with a strip of leather even tho a few strays framed his sun kissed face. Bell bottoms riding low on his hips and the bigger the bell the cooler the guy..always a peace sign tee-shirt.
Like many girls I admired Easy from a distance, of course should he have looked my way my eyes would become huge with fright that he might notice we girls were becoming teens, and Heaven forbid if he noticed the signs of this transformation..the things that started growing out of our chest oh and never at the same time..one always seemed to grow at a different rate then the other.
Easy was a couple of years older than me, he was already an older teen..ready for high school..very comfortable in his skin. He lived in the big two story house across the bridge on the "other side" of my neighborhood the side where all the kids wanted to hang out because all the cool stuff was there. Always a game of football being played by the boys on the front lawn..always a ton of girls just walking by with a glance in case one of the boys might be watching us instead of playing ball. Trick-or Treating was awesome never just one piece of candy..heck they left the bowl out for us to pick from and you never ever toilet papered his trees or egged his windows.
Whenever you needed help with a dreaded math problem you looked for him grabbed a seat on the ground and after awhile you knew how to do the problem with ease. Even if you were "just a kid" wearing your Dads white undershirt under everything..never to give in to the not really needed bra.
Easy Tedder knew his way around school he was in his last year there I was just starting my first year scared to death and wanting to stay in my little school where I knew I had friends. Why the heck cant we go up and down the stairs the same way..no that would be to easy why not make one side of the school the up stairs and the other side of the school the down stairs so you had to run to class hoping not to be late
I switched my Dads tee-shirt for my very first"training bra" and it worked they became trained and began growing at almost the same speed..hmm I decided I kinda liked the new look.
I was still awkward and very shy tried each day to navigate my way around this huge school but I had a secret wepon yup my new pink cotton training bra..no one knew..well I didn't think they did
Then it happened..The Happiest Day of My life. I was running to my next class when I ended up going down the up stairs and there he was face to face with me, of course my eyes bugged out of my head when he reached out picked me up and headed me in the right direction then said the sweetest words in my ear.."Wrong Way Shrimp" now thats true love..
