A few years ago, I had an idea for a range of greetings cards.
Hand drawn in black ink, little cherubs in different scenes, I drew a different design for each kind of card, but all with the little cherubs.

This of course was way before the days of the internet, so I sent my paper designs off to Hallmark, who mailed back saying that they had all the artists they wanted at that time.

So I decided I’d print my own... yeah right.

I went to several printers, who each in turn said that for it to be cost effective I would have to print off hundreds of each.
But what if I couldn’t sell them…I’d be stuck with hundreds of cards, besides the fact that it was going to cost quite a bit, and money was tight.. the very reason I was trying to make some in the first place!

Eventually I gave up, I became so despondent that I stopped trying, but I’ve always had this idea that I would try to produce them again in the future.

Then the other day, whilst working on my online store, I thought…
Hey! I could try to recreate my cherubs again!

A dream that was put on hold over 15 years ago.

Someone said on here the other day that their dream is to make an electric train model, a dream they have put off for the future.
I say good luck to you! Do it!

So many dreams we have that we put on shelves, we never even give ourselves good reasons why, we just do, saying that we will… one day.

But dreams are only worth having if we at least have some determination to make them come true.

Yes, the economy is bad right now, but some people have made it from nothing, just hard work and a strong focus on what we want to achieve. It is hard, but not impossible.

Hold on to your goals, never say never, attack your ambition head on with the same determination and zeal you’d have if it was protecting one of your own…

Because it is your own….

It is your dream… your ambition…

It can be a success…

And when we have achieved all that we can…

Knowing that we have left no stone unturned, nor rested on our laurels…

We can finally look at our own achievements with pride and a feeling of pure accomplishment…

For we are the keepers of our dreams.

You go, Girl!

For years people encouraged me to publish a book of poetry since I had written so many poems. My first book was "Palette of the Heart" which I self published thinking the same people who had encouraged me would surely buy a copy. Since they were mostly friends and family they wanted FREE copies of my book stating "But I am your friend/sibling/third cousin twice removed, etc" So after I made about $50 on book sales after spending $700, my book went on the Internet where anyone can read it free.

Blue Mountain Arts is an excellent card publisher and will pay well for your idea if they like it

Right now my dream is to survive this economy. I am going back to school next fall to finish my studies for legal assistant. That is one dream I've had for a while now. I didn't finish because of personal reasons, but, that has since been resolved. So, it's time to go back and finish getting that degree.

My dream is to find a really goodlooking guy with a very financially-secure job, a good sized house & a huge walk-in closet for all my shoes & clothes (designer of course).

But that's my dream's dream . . . I already have my dream . . . life, love, happiness.

Dreams have to be attainable, and you must live, breathe and pursue those dreams.

That's where the good part comes in; the reality.

Dreams are what save us, even if we don't finish them, though when a dreams is fully completed it's satisfaction of personal pride, which is priceless.
