Ever have your life tossed out into a fragger? It’s not so good I can tell you. I remember those priceless, framed works of art being condemned outright, by his cruel decision. He, the Executioner, the one who drew the final curtain and sent them to die their eternal deaths in the fragger at Frotter’s End.

They took a part of me with them, a huge slice of my personality, outlook, expression, all captured in time and snadwiched between wood and delicate glass.

There’s no point crying over spilled milk, especially if someone else went and shamelessly poured a whole damned urn all over the place. There is always a mop the bucket, but after cleaning up the mess, there’s no longer any incentive to start again; for fear of reprise.

Ten years of no motivation, an opened, unused box of oil pastels and one blank canvas later, nothing changed, until yesterday. A huge van pulled up outside, with my delivery of three hand crafted wooden Italian frames. One slightly damaged along the way, but it’ll sell under concession. I am not sure I am going to want to part with them, once they are finished, but I don‘t have that choice at the moment. Money is tight and it’s a matter of keeping a roof over my head, or a piece of art on the wall. I’m not going to have any walls to hang them on if I keep them, it’s that simple.

Maybe I can change my name to >>> Leonardo daVinci <<< or something like that. He was that Spanish guitarist who played a very fine Stradivarius. Born in Italy in 1475, he only died once, but with it, he left behind a wealth of all time greats. The Mona Lisa, one of his best known prints. He was friends with Michael Angelo, that guy who plastered the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel and they both did some other stuff in that big shopping centre, The Vatican City.

Can you imagine, Choos Dicaprio and The Rebirth of Renaissance in the C21st. It sounds ok doesn’t it, only I’ll have to die first, to get all the money. That is a little bit of a downside, but every career has them.

I had a book of Leonardo's drawings.. sketches, rough draughts of his planned paintings, I found them more fascinating than the finished stuff actually.

He also made rough outlines of flying machines too.. a very clever man and not just an artist.

I know what you mean about not wanting to part with the frames.. Ive nearly finished a chair I am restoring.. planned to sell it.. but now its nearly done I like it too much lol

Start painting now, and you can always die later.

Or better yet become the artist in residence on a Virgin Island beach, and sell them to the tour boat tourists.

Well begun is halfway done.

You can't regain the paintings, but the spirit of making them is still to be had.

This is nothing about the word "fragger" that sounds good.

I love the renaissance period the most, it was a time of unlimited passion in the art world, where a master was truly skilled.

I just sold 7 wooden frames that were 150 years old,lol

I dab in painting myself and yes, it's very hard to see your babies go,lol

I wish you the best in recapturing the artist in you.

He was that Spanish guitarist who played a very fine Stradivarius.

I never knew this. I thought Stradivarius only made violins? Unless you count that company that makes Stradivarius cigars. I knew DaVinci created a silver lyre shaped like a horse's head once though.

or....you could sell your stories....your poems....your songs.....and illustrate other people's creations as well as the media you left alone for so long....

You are a Renaissance woman(master..er...mistress of many trades)...

others have a hard time keeping up with you...

Wonder if Leonardo had a very active love life among his creations?

Some people can NOT be satisfied with a simple, uncreative, non-expressive of inner feelings and live the simple life...uncomplicated....

and those who are creative...nay...not just creative...but dramatically expressive... must do just that....else they shrival and dwell in self pity....

I know.......

and...your "Life" has only just begun.....this new chapter....embrace it!

I like Mona Lisa, wherever I move to she keeps her eyes on me still.
Hope you can be a good frame maker.you can sand it then paint it .

Let's say some water color seem to be ok to get fix after the spill

Take your time, dealing with art can;t be rushed.

Don't sell yourself short. Benefits Supervisor Sleeping by Lucien Freud set auction records for the most of any living artist at Christies in May 2008. Something to definitely aspire to-- no longer any need to die to amass tons of wealth through the ability to see -- and the courage to craft --a thing of beauty others choose to ignore.
