Alleged rape raises questions about bystanders
As hundreds of students gathered in the school gym, outside in a dimly lit alley where the victim was allegedly raped, police say witnesses took photos. Others laughed Imagine!! these are today's students and tomorrow's managers!!!

read this this morning and was not shocked, I was going to post it but figured someone else would and they have...it is so sad, even my lil man was like "mom, thats ok they will go to jail and get what they did to that girl 3 fold" I know it doesnt make it any better or take what was already done to that poor young girl but he is right

I saw that on the news and nearly cried for the poor girl.
Yes, the internet, games and neighbors not getting to know each others, kneads with broken homes and families who don't care about each does lead to people being desensitize.
Not only didn't anyone help, some actually join in the raping of her, what truly sad was there was 4 police officers at the dance, yet even though was screaming cheering going on outside the cops were to busy eating donuts or something.

The greatest desensitizer is TV. Many people use it as a cheap babysitter for their children.
The first time you see brutal violence, you react in a healthy manner, with distaste, and usually attempt to end it.
After ten thousand viewings, (the number of TV murders most 14 year old kids have have witnessed), the reaction has been desensitized away. It is a short step from watching violence for entertainment to watching it for real.
As audiences become ever more desensitized, the TV violence becomes more bizarre and brutal, to get a response. The response is that the viewers become yet more jaded. Throw in some videos and games glorifying violence to make a quick buck, and the result is what you have described. Do you think you would find that reaction in a so called "primitive" society?
How to return them to sensibility? Easy.
Stop mitigating the pain to them from their own actions, so they will understand cause and affect.
Put a brick through your TV!

How to teach them that they all responsible about each other's : safety,well-being and property
They all share the same future.
IT will happen to each and everyone IF they allowed it to happen to someone else!!!!!

It happened..and it happened since god only knows when
THEN there is a HUGE problem at hand
It is huge...some of these students will be police officers/judges/DA/Bank managers....etc.....
And I feel that some of the witnesses were FEMALE students
and if this is the case then ...it would be a disaster

I think it's a myrid of problems with Americans.
To say it simply, we don't believe in anything anymore.
We spout out alot of drivel, but we really don't believe in 'right' and wrong'.
Frankly, I am surprised they asked why the crowd stood around laughing and taking pictures.
We threw out 'getting involved' and morality a long time ago.
It's all about 'me' now.

Makes ya wonder if even held accountable and at what cost? will they truly understand the depth of what has been done and if some do become as you have stated will they then feel remorse or will it be "hey I got a slap on the wrist" and then they will feel .....whats that word..ya know where someone feels like they can get away way with murder just about, like god complex......is it inferior?
