I woke up in the midst’s of a dream. Osama Bin Ladin was dressed in full drag and getting down to “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. Now, disturbing as this may be, at 6-foot-whatever, he didn’t look half bad in stilettos and I actually woke up smiling. It’s very possible that I am a sociopath, I’ve often wondered that, but it’s more likely my volatile hormones. I am, in fact, a woman and, according to the male of the species, subject to hysteria. I believe, back in the day, male doctors would be able to cure this affliction by masturbating the female patients. But, that is a most inappropriate subject for this evening’s discussion and one I would rather not approach with such a *cough* unfamiliar audience. Hmmm…now where was I? Oh yes, I was wondering why on Earth we actually care about people we have never and will never come in contact with. People that have no impact on our daily existence and yet, celebrity gossip is a multi-billion dollar industry. This maybe a stupid question, but has daily living become so mundane for most Americans that they are reduced to filling the emptiness within their souls with the intricacies of “Kourtney & Chloe Do Miami”? I try not to hold high expectations of my fellow mammalians, but I whole heartedly hope the answer to this is “F*ck NO”. Of course, I am also an immersionist, a personality flaw that holds a whole heap of self-contradictory issues….ones that I find immensely amusing, by the way.
Oh bother…I’m babbling. Maybe I can sleep now. Thanks for listening.
