I began a continuing blog and won't be able to get back to it for a while: I cut my hand, severing a nerve, and am scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Because of my injury, typing has been a bit difficult and I haven't been able to write--which is also why I haven't answered email or responded to blog comments.
Please accept my apologies.
I do want to thank everyone for welcoming me back to the site. I've been cruising other sites during my 10 month hiatus and have to say that this is still the best site I've found on which to write. I stumbled on MD soon after starting this internet dating thing and I posted my very first blog here; It feels nicely circular to come back at the end of my quest.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to the last chapter of Adventures In Internet Dating; but I'll let you cheat and give you a glimpse of the last page:
Internet dating can be a wonderful way to meet people, and if you're particularly determined and are willing to step out of your comfort zone it is possible to find a life partner--no matter how old you are or how checkered your past. If it worked for me, it can work for all of us. Don't give up hope.
Again, I don't know when I'll post again; I've never had surgery before (another adventure!) and have no idea how I'll feel. Fortunately, my lover will be here to nurse me back to health.

Jen, I wish you a speedy recovery! I have been wondering what you've been up to lately. Many people have come and gone leaving that big question. It's nice to see you back and with a smile on your fingertips!
Again, speedy recovery and good luck getting mentally ready for surgery, I"m sure you know sometimes that's more stressful than the actual proceedure.

Hey Jen, great to see you back for any amount of time, even if it's just a peek. Good luck on your surgery; I've had both my hands operated on and was able to slowly get back to drawing. Hope you're at the keyboard again quickly!

Thanks for dropping back in, Jen. Ouch the hand, sorry to hear that. I've (quietly) read nearly every blog you wrote... and it's so heartening to hear that there's a happy ending! Lucky guy! Good luck, I look forward to the remainder of Part 2.
