Last night was just like any other evening. Picked presley up from school, came home started dinner as he finished up some school work. After dinner i cleaned up the kitchen and got some stuff together for presley's halloween party at school.
Presley is in charge of feeding and giving fresh water to chep { my 13 year old bullmastiff }, well he went out to the barn and got her some food and changed out her water. I watched him running around out in the yard calling and looking for chep. A few minutes later he came inside and told me chep was asleep and that she wouldn't wake up.. Right then, my heart raced, had a bad feeling deep inside of me,fear,panic set in as i raced up to the back of the barn.
Found her beside the barn, she had passed away. Losing her is painful, had her for 13 years..She was/is my friend, always stood by me no matter what. Presley is just as upset about losing chep as i am, he has loved that dog since he was just a baby himself. Him and i said many prayers and shed many of tears as we put her to rest.
You will be missed my friend..............

I am truely sorry for your loss. I lost my baby girl of 13 years on june 29th. She died from anti freeze poisoning. Ive had a few people say, "shes just a cat", but she was more than that. (no one from here said that, just the dicks in the real world.)

Im so so sorry.
I lost my namesake Charligirl my German shepherd last year, had to put her to sleep after she'd lost all function from the waist down.
Its a very painful thing, and I know what you mean about losing a best friend.
If your dog wasnt ill, then it must have been sudden which is a blessing of sorts.

Wow anyone who could say it was just a dog, cat, pet, get over it, has never known the unconditional love of a pet.
I had 2 dogs pass away this year and one cat disappeared. I think about them everyday.

my heart was once touched by the dog,,japanese name as his gene is mixed wolf and japanese dog, I know he guard me as his race is guardian dog.
From his eyes and the way he shows me love ,clinging to me kissing me,,,wanting my affection in return.
Yes he is just a dog but he has love and very loyal to the person who love and taking care of them.guarding....and my other experiences are good lessons to change my wonder of Why many people so in love with their pets.no doubts to me then!
none of them are my dogs but i love three of them.,they desreved to be love especially loyal and faithul I love very much in dogs

Lordy Scratch... I know how it feels.
I lost my Lazareth almost 2 months ago after 11 years together.... so very painful..
sometimes I still think I hear him walking ( or thumping with only three legs) across the floor.
He was my best buddy.... I wrote a tribute to him here at MD...
Hoping the pain eases for you and your family.... it takes time

She was/is my friend, always stood by me no matter what.
I am so sorry to hear this and i didnt know till today. I am so sorry my friend. It took a long time for me to get over the death of my pets.

It is ok that she doesn't like dogs, but someone should have told her the definition of the word "tact." It is the ability to shut your mouth before someone shuts it for you. Some things you just have to overlook Scratch. I remember when my mom lost her doberman, she cried for months. They become a part of your family and you love and care for them. They are not like some people who are fickle and have no sympathy. At least you know that this is not someone to put on your friend's list or ask out for a date. 
I am so sorry for your loss. While you can never replace your dog, you can get you another one to love. Love you my friend.

I was going to post my sympathies before I went to work this am, and ran out of time, so decided to do so after work. THEN I read *THAT* comment! I went back and read everything to see if I mis-read something...and my reaction turned to anger, and disgust.
I am in a way glad she showed her true colors right away, before she did something even more malicious...and obviously she is capable of it.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Chep. My condolences to you and Presley. I'm a firm believer in treating your pets as a part of your family when you have them. When you can't do that, you shouldn't have them at all. I know Chep was loved. Thank you for making her life a good life, Scratch. I know you will miss her always, as I miss my little Lacy every day. We can always get another 'pet', but the ones we have had can NEVER be replaced. May your Chep Rest In Peace.
One more thing.......I pray to GOD that that 'bag' up above never has a four legged family member in her household. I know it would never be treated as it should be......with love and compassion.

I am so sorry to hear about Chep.
We lost our dog and our oldest kitty within 3-4 weeks of each other earlier this year. We had them both close to 17 years.
Our four legged family teaches us plenty about unconditional love and companionship.

Oh! I am sorry for your loss. Animals can be our good friends. I watched my beloved Sandy Woo, (german shepherd, chow mix) go down hill at age 15 and pass. We knew it was coming for three days, as for two days, she would not eat, and on day three she could not hold her head up to drink from her bowl, her face fell into it, and I had to pull it out and dry it off. We called the vet. the next morning and carried that big dog in in her sleeping bag, she lay there moaning and we were all crying, even the vet., and he gave her the shot to put her to sleep. She's buried in the family pet cemetary with a nice stone. Yea, I am crying right now. I don't get people who can treat living things as if they were some object to be used for amusement and then thrown away. I even say thanks to Heaven for the meat I eat and ask that the animal's spirit be blessed. My Shara Wolfenstein is getting gray now, and I am dreading the day when she will pass on, too.
