I used to never refuse a "good" fight here in blogland.
Spilling emoticons left and right, I dove into the melee and had a pretty good time...
Blogland can do that to you....
You "win" even when you lose.
You "lose" even when you win...
But by all means, you don't keep quiet and you "darn well told them"

That was "then"...

Now...?
Now I would like to not participate.
I would like to keep the peace.
Peace is such a fragile commodity.
Things don't get solved with fighting and bashing, not even in blogland.

I know, I know, I know.... you all have very valid arguments for very valid causes.
And lately, the arguments and causes just run parallel and too general. Yet, the words cut like sharp swords.
But they are not for the same causes, even though they seem to.

I won't take sides anymore.
I'll sit in my corner and watch.

I like you all (well.... MOST... ) too much for being able to take sides in a fight that is not real.

I would like you to stop shooting and rather walk together in peace...
(.... into the sunset...? )

Alas.... I don't know if that's possible...
... or is it?

Well........ Im guilty of taking sides at times. When there is something I see to be a blatant attempt at someone being a douche, its hard not to comment. The first emotional response is to react. I try not to let that instinct get the better of me, but when someone says something so cruel and heartless, all rationale and civility go out the window.

Screw the billy goats, this is MY bridge.

I know....
I sometimes get sucked into it, too.

Then... it takes me ten e-mails to "repair" things back-stage...

So I try to not get into it right away, but wait a while.... and keep quiet...

It'd be nice to think it's possible . . . but IMO it's impossible because too many here like to defend their beliefs too much.

Just chalk it up to being 'too too'.

sometimes, battling is the only way a problem can reveal itself and be resolved, hence women who are abused, kids being molested or raped.

Silence is what perpetuate the problem.

I too enjoy a peaceful life, but sometimes one needs to stand-up hard for what they believe, now, I prefer facts and commonsense during argument.

I do expect things to get heated, it just part of life when passions are shared.

People lie when they say they want peace and harmony here and real life.

On here, the most view and commented blogs are the controversial one's by far, this is a fact. In real life controversy sells like crazy, just watch the TV.

People that know me here, know I am a gentle soul, that finds good in most people, and does not see, race, religion, or sexual preference......but occasionally
someone says something intolerant, abusive, callous, or spiteful, and the hair starts to curl on the back of my neck.

Especially, when it involves children, or anyone, or anything, defenseless.

Then..**WHOA MAMMA**!!!

I am not saying it is right...but it is right for me...

I love fencing, with words or foils.

But before joining battle, I ask myself, " What do you lose if you lose, what do you win if you win, and what is the cost of joining in.

And the words of Proverbs come to mind.

Never answer a fool in his folly lest you become like him.

It appears that tonight, the temptation became too strong, for too many.

Now here a small clarification....

I keep away from the fights that are mostly verbal and intellectual wars.
I try to not take sides when people theorize.
I cannot side with people who throw insults around like Halloween candy.

BUT....
.........when it is about children, helpless people or animals, about REAL things and REAL issues of this world.... thennnnnnnnn - yes, absolutely - count me in for throwing yet another stone into the mud-puddle and watch the waves circle out.

yep...DON"T mess with me or my friends!

I do have a mouth that is hard to control when triggered by "feelings".....

And will only say stuff when it is obvious the "fight starter" wants attention...cause I will bring "attention".....

live and learn in blogland....

and for my friends....I love y'all....

These days it's not so bad here, yeah someone will get their whiteies in a wad sometimes, but it seems to blow over quickly, and people go back to being nice. It's never right to do, but compared to the old md'ers you guys are pussycats, wimps even! It got so bad, they did away with the blogs and forums on here. Talk about flaming blog wars, I use to have to shut my pc down after five minutes of reading, just to keep it from bursting into flames.
