I wish that I could paint a portrait of the lodge that Carolyn and I stay at for her treatments. It is like a motel, but better. The lodge is free for cancer patients and the family or friends helping to take care of the cancer patients.. They play bingo, have bible studies. a computer room, a small gym room, a library, a HUGE kitchen, and shuttle: and all this is free to the patient and her entourage.
Carolyn went to the doctor Thursday and they told her that they have found nothing on her scans. Of course this just opens up the door for my sister. She tells them, "Of course you won't find anything, I told you so." She is scheduled to have 13 radiation treatments on her spine and skull and then have 10 on her skull alone. She is doing so well. Gosh, I wish I could convey just how much I love her. She is much bolder and stronger than I am.
As far as I know, she only has 2 1/2 weeks left of radiation and then she will have chemo treatments that last 48 weeks. At least these are only every six weeks and not every day like the radiation.
She amazes me.. Now the therapists ask her if she wants to pray. She has told them that she wants them and her to pray before each treatment. She puts me to shame, for even I don't have that much boldness.
I wonder what is in store for her. Her life has done a 360 degree change. Somehow, I think that God has everything under control.
