It is a nice,cool,Fall afternoon.....the kids will have a nice Trick or Treat evening....

I guess I best go buy some candy...just in case someone comes to my house..being I am the "old lady on the corner...."...sort of the "spinister" about whom the kids have horror stories.

My house still needs "fixing"....(a story which continues with changing of characters....)..and it seems it has been "tagged" by all vagrants in town...

I do have to call the police frequently...skunks...stolen weed-eaters from my cluttered porch....evidence prints from stepping in canned dog food smeared on my porch and gate left wide open...and other "innocent"? (I don't think so) incidents....

With such ...history...Halloween is not one of my favorite nights....too much opportunity for ...er..pranksters....

Anyway...I was looking out the window when a young man in red long sleeve sweat shirt and ball cap , carrying a duffle bag...not much in it by the way...and ....opened the gate (left it open also) and then proceeded to my porch....

"Catch and hold Baby!" I shouted to my "bodyguard".....

I answered the door before he could step up onto the porch. He so meekly said "Could I do some work for you for money? I see you have weeds in the back.
(which meant he had been to the alley of my property)

He has been here before and I don't trust him.He seems so innocent to an unsuspicious mind...usually like the elderly possess....

"I am so hungry and need some money. I can work for you. I need money for a bus ticket." ( shifting the duffle bag on his shoulder to show he was packed to go)

"Thank you but I don't need you to do work for me."

"Bill, come tell this young man we are fine." Bill, who looks like Santa Clause...beard, glasses and all...ok...so he wears a pony-tail and Santa doesn't..but he is still my "bodyguard" and I want all of these...."solicitors" to know I am NOT the 'lil ole lady who is an "easy touch" and look out 'cause my "bodyguard" is ...er...mean? ...or at least bigger than you are...so ....DON'T mess with me!


And after he gave up, even though he said "Bless you ma'm." and other things that would make softhearted potential "victims" give in....he exited the gate and walked in the opposite direction of the bus station.....humnnnn

Since he had canvased my house/property/me?...I thought for good measure I best notify my local crusiers..er...otherwise know as the police department...
and upon doing so...the dispatcher asked me if he was wearing a white hat???
Did that mean he was a good guy? or had someone else already reported him also?

anyway......tonight is Halloween...Trick or Treat!

Best not come to my house expecting to trick me! I will treat you to a ride in the cruiser to...the bus station?
