Okie doke...
I have eaten and feel better this afternoon than this morning...
The official tally for the MD get-together was five wonderfully warm and witty attendees. Nearly all the flights were delayed on arrival-day Tuesday due to the high winds in Vegas. When my plane touched down, I phoned Jenn who told me that she and Keeno were waiting by Carousel 8 -- which is where my luggage would wind up -- except that I had not checked any bags. It was a good location though, and I looked for Keeno whom I had met four years ago at the Palm Springs gathering.
I spied Jenn instead, as Keeno had ducked out to feed the meter. I thought it was cool that we both had no problem recognizing one another.
**************** Heaven had reserved four condos and at this point there were three of us and only Pali and Robo expected the following day. We briefly discussed whether we each wanted our own place, but I insisted that as I lived alone, i was there to socialize and preferred to share.
So, Keeno and I shared a condo, Jenn had her own place and Pali and Robo took the condo above us. The condos were great accommodations! Thank you so much Heaven.
The guy at the desk informed us that there was wireless available for $6.95 per day through ATT. ATT is my provider at home, so I called and found out how to connect. Even with Keeno there to socialize, I am a computer junkie.
We did spend some time roasting fellow MDers...but much more time getting to know one another better and having a good time. For me, this was my first real trip to Vegas since I was seven. Nothing looked the same to me. Seeing the lights the first night was quite sensational.
I am in Vegas yet until Monday around midnight. The time with my new and old friends went much too fast! I have missed them the past two days in spite of being around other friends.
