I was on another website this morning, I'm a member of a German group on that site. This is what one man posted. It'll make you cry.

Just to let you know, this man is visiting Germany right now and wrote this while over there.

"The recession may be winding down over there (U.S.) but here there seems to be no end in sight. The firm Quelle which is probably the German equivelant of Sears has just gone into receivership taking 7000 jobs with it. Thomas Cook and Karstadt stores are also involved. The local news and the newspapers here are not upbeat about the economy. Mercedes Benz has been overtaken by Audi in sales this month leaving it now in third position behind BMW and Audi. Just got a knock on the door and my daughter has sent my copies of the la times, newsweek and the new yorker. What a pleasure after the Pfalzer Tagblatt. I find reading in german taxing.

I have a friend in England too who says the economy is horrible in her country, people are just barely getting by.

I'm wondering if it is the same Thomas Cook who males travel books, hmmmm.

I've been wondering the same as you, what will people do when there is no money to pay their mortgages, when they are close to losing their homes, so many have already lost them. I can't find work either, I'm online from morning 'til night searching every website, even phoning companies. This is ridiculous! My bf and I started our own cleaning business, but....no bites on that either, we have gone door to door, sent flyers, posted ads on bulletin boards around town, we have caps we wear with our business logo to advertise, phoned places, no luck at all. We are trying our best to better things for ourselves but something has got to give soon.

Maybe some people are in the wrong area of the country or are only looking for certain types of jobs??
Within 20 miles of the smaller city I'm in, I see new jobs almost everyday . . . Sears, a couple of fastfood restaurants, cable company & cellular stores (to name a few) in my area all have openings.

One of the better things a person can do while they're unemployed is to do volunteer work; it looks alot better on a resume than to see a period of time where nothing was done.

"I can't find work either, I'm online from morning 'til night searching every website"

This problem started back in the late 80's and early 90's, when virtually every major company in America was allowed to move their manufacturing operations out of the country. And while the capitalist pigs of big business were lining their pockets with the savings from cheap foreign labor, the country was sliding down the tubes. Then to add insult to injury, they took the profits and stashed it in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes! This was the bomb, all it took was some thieves in the Banking / Mortgage industry to light the fuse.

Now everyone is screwed. People because they have no jobs, and business because they cant sell their products to people who have no jobs. It has come full circle.

I told people two years ago this was going to happen.
Many dismissed it.

They're lieing through their teeth.
The economy is going to get much, much worse..

Forget the new T.V. and car.

Buy food and essentials for long term.

And..if you can..get the out of the cities.

We live in the suburbs but it's still expensive living here, rents are high, 4 years ago I found a condo which was affordable to I bought it to have equity, now I worry about losing it, geeez.

Yes, it has come full circle, very true.

I agree I think the economy will get much worse.

You're not keeping up with the latest news.
The recession is over for the Wall Street millionaires and billionaires.
Don't forget the bankers.
They're now raking in the big bucks again thanks to the trillions the taxpayers gave them.

These are the only guys who count in this country at the moment.
As long as they are making money and the stock market climbs, things are just fine.
The government forgot about everyone else.

Besides, the Obama spinmeisters are claiming that those who still have jobs can thank Obama because he saved them!

Never heard such a load of crap in my entire life!!!
