I've run into a lot of this on this site as well as others. It's almost like they follow a script. They are all into gold, jewels, are construction engineers, are either in another country or going soon, dealing. They all start professing strong feelings or love for me almost from the start. Pretty soon I notice they are no longer on the site, and when I ask them why, it's because they took themself off because they found me.

None of them got around to asking me for money, except one today. He was so rich he couldn't spend all his money, but was in a bind overseas and needed $100 from me. I told him he was an amateur scammer and was very obvious. For some reason I haven't heard any more from him. Hmmmmmm.

My favorite thing to do is waste their time like they waste mine, when they get around to asking for money, which usually is w/in a couple of day. They'll ask for my account number which I turn around and let them know I need an address, no account numbers involved and that I'm going to the bank the following day to withdraw and send. They'll leave messages all night long asking if I've gotten the money, am I here, when r u going to send, ect ect ect..... then I politely send a message about mid morning telling them the bank won't give me the money they say I"m being scammed... then pooof off line they go, never to be heard from again.

PLEASE remember to NOT give them your email address or IM addy.... with those they can get into your computer, get all of your info out of it, get into your email accounts, and even put stuff into your computer, possibly destroying it. If you must "play" with them-which can be fun, please do it through the emails on this site (or other protected site) only.

Yikes, I didn't know that. Well, nothing has happened yet.

Texasgirl, I have done that except I tell them I sent it just to make them waste their time going to get it. Then I tell them the truth about conning them.

Hey texas,

Ive been pitting them against each other and it's be fun.
Save the email addresses they give you. When two or three scammers email you, give them the other scammers email addresses.

We should at least get a laugh at their expense. lol

I do the same as Lindylu when they ask for $$$..EXCEPT I say my attorney handles all my $$$ AFTER I get the address to send it to..and turn that in also!

and another thing that was shared about those "love" scammers...which I think is a good idea.... give them another scammer's e-mail address!

I didn't realize that either about giving them my email, which I don't do anyways, but geeez. I usually tell them I'm unemployed and wish I had money that it's getting tough to live lol. I never hear from them again lol.

I've chatted with them on IM before I knew they were scammers. How dangerous is that? I have emailed a couple times, but my last name wasn't on it, but the initial was. Nothing has happened so far.

Here's the comment I was looking for that I posted on another scammer blog:
I HAVE toyed with a scammer or two before through IM in the past.... then sent them packing.... THEN, the next thing I know, I am getting messages in ALL of my email accounts that are obviously from their "operation." There are the ones from "PayPal" that say that they need your info updated or your account will be suspended -- On the surface, it looks like it is from PayPal, but on closer observation you can see that it actually isn't.. even the logo is there.
And here is the REALLY scary part.... I started getting messages from banks that I do business with, stating that I need to update my info with them for this reason or that, only it really isn't from the actual banks but "fake sites" to look like them, meaning they are TRUE PROFESSIONALS at their "game" and have gotten into my computer, into my info, and know which banks I bank at so they know which sites to use to try and get my money.
These scammers are BIG TIME, Hard Core, Bad A$$ CRIMINALS that belong to VERY LARGE groups of horribly bad people. As I touched on in my blog, they aren't usually just one person pulling a scam, but work from a "call center" so to speak. Only, a very dangerous one. They may talk funny, but they aren't as dumb as you may think, or at least their leader isn't. And they are capable of ANY kind of revenge.

Don't give me the credit. Someone here on MD said that he does it all the time, hence it gave me the idea. I still can't figure out who said it.
It's a load of fun though

When men want me to contact them at another e-mail, I do not respond. When there is no photo, I don't respond. These are my rules for my safety. If they use words out of context , that is a good tip off too.

I have learned to delete the messages... ignore them....

Seems they are always new to the site, no pic and want to have a instant relationship. but can not type a decent email and want to chat only.

Time wasters....

They all should be marked as spam. If enough people mark them as spam, they are deleted. Please don't just delete.

They are getting smarter all the time.
They read what we post here & other places & find ways around it.
If we respond in any way to them ... If we call them at their game...
If we point out to them HOW we know they are scammers...
They'll change it up for the next group of potential victims.
And some naive people will fall for it.

Very common right now is the email:
widowed, spouse died in some horrifc way, young child to raise,
gives name & age of child, no requests for anything but conversation ...
& your email address.
Don't be fooled!

Scammers can make us skeptical of any & all emails... There is no need to
ever give your personal email address if someone from here wants to communicate.

I do believe some people here are NOT scammers but like their other
email better than here (no clue why) but I have never shared my
email with anyone until I have *known* them for a long time through
blogs, forums, email here.

The obvious ones ... No picture, requesting your info, requesting help,
bad English skills even though he states he was born & raised here....
