Every once in awhile I'll see a blog that appears to make a point that I would like to comment on. Sometimes though, after I've clicked on it and the entire blog is opened up I realize that it's just a one or two hundred word run-on sentence that never seems to make a point or come to a conclusion. Lost is the point I thought was being made, it just blends into a stream of words that has no real meaning, nothing that you can grasp and say "I agree or disagree with that" it just is an assemblage of words but nothing more.
I think often the authors think they are getting their points across but it's not apparent to me other than they are trying to speak on a topic or topics but that is all.
There are degrees and subtletys in writing I know that can make it difficult to get at the meaning or that shade it so that the meaning is not as strong. But I'm talking about none of those, I'm talking about pointless writing.
Sometimes a writer just needs to read what it is they wrote and ask themselves if it is understandable to someone that doesn't know what they are talking about.

Or when people write comments and they make a huge run on sentence they never use any punctuation i have that happen very often like right now you see im doing it on your blog thats really annoying and hard to read people need to stop doing this because it looks dumb and never makes mush sense. lol

Sorry, it's annoying to read. LOL!

OR

It's also very unsatisfying when you've invested a certain amount of time in reading their blog and you can't figure out what the hell they are going on about.

Exactly. Some people have great blogs but it's so hard to read that you don't take in everything they said. Their words are good but their execution is not. Make's it hard to take them seriously.

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day when I read a Blog response post. The poster wrote one HUGE run-on sentence decrying the state of Education!

...and she is a TEACHER!

I just hope she doesn't teach English!

I like to read well written material and must admit I've been annoyed at lack of punctuation and my worst pet peave is the lack of paragraphs. I end up not being able to finish a long blog without any new paragraphs.

Those types of blogs can be a headache to read. You think you get the idea of it, but, it runs on and on and on. After a while, you get lost and lose what the point of it was.

Cookie, don't think that.
It's just very hard to follow what some people are saying when their comments and blogs are written in such a way. I see blogs with potential but it gives me a headache trying to read them.

Writing is about communicating. The easier you make it for the reader to get your meaning the more likely it is that they will understand your point. If they have to work at it and it's not important to them they won't be bothered.

A friend once showed me a letter he had written to the friend of the court, even though I knew who and what he was talking about I could hardly make heads or tails of it. He didn't care because they "knew" his case so he didn't have to explain himself better. I'm sure some bureaucrat opened, tried to read it and then put it on the bottom of the 'to do' pile. Meeting his/her quota for the day, ten files or whatever being their priority, whose cases get done is much less important.
