Sally's married to Kevin but she once dated his best friend, Terry, had an affair with her boss and had the hots for her eldest daughter Rosie's teacher, John Stape when he was giving her private tuition, even though she knew he was dating her colleague Fizz from the knicker factory but what she didn't know was he was also boffing Rosie and becoming obsessed with her to the point he'd eventually get a kicking from Kevin, kidnap Rosie, do time for it then marry Fizz in prison after she forgave him.
Kevin's boffing his friend and employee Tyrone's new wife, Molly who also does the accounts for the garage he runs where Tyrone works as a mechanic. Tyrone used to date Maria who eventually married Liam who co-owned the knicker factory with Tony who was married to Carla, Liam's dead older brother's ex-wife.
Liam loved Maria and asked her to marry him after he made her pregnant but was also boffing Carla because he couldn't help himself. Tony found out and paid a man to run Liam down in his car until he was dead, then Maria gave birth to Liam's baby on a beach after going for a walk with Tony who ended up delivering the baby who they called Liam.
Tony and Maria fell in love and got engaged then Carla came back from wherever she went because she heard about Tony and Maria from Lianne who used to be a prostitute and once boffed Carla's husband for money when she didn't know who he was and before she became friends with Carla. Tony tried to get the man who killed Liam to kill Carla but it went pear-shaped and she thought she'd killed him instead and fled to America.
Through the stress and guilt of everything he's done Tony has a heart attack and confesses to Roy who co-owns Roy's Rolls Cafe with his transexual wife Hayley. Roy doesn't like Tony and Tony doesn't like Roy, Roy just happened to be there and called an ambulance because Roy always tries to do the right thing. Tony thought he was going to die because all the men in his family die young so he confessed to Roy that he killed Liam ... but when he didn't die sent Roy lots of gifts and offered Hayley the job of managing the knicker factory. Roy threatened to call the police but Tony called his bluff by handing him a phone to make the call. Roy couldn't make the call, went home to Hayley and decided not to mention it again as he's only 90% sure Tony is guilty and Maria seems so very happy.
And all this happened in just one quiet little street on a set built by Tyne Tees TV near Manchester, oop north.
