Sometimes it is not hard to tell if an email is genuine or not. I usually get about 3 of these a week, but this one was the hardest to read. Is this girl really just a sincere person looking for someone? Is this some guy in China looking for some Western Union money? The red flags for me are the outside email they attach, the lack of a picture and the fact that the profile has been created the same day I received the email.
The translation made me laugh, so I decided to post it.............

Sounds like my ex hubby's new wife who is Chinese, when we met her she did not know much English. Her name is Lan, that name sounds very similar don't ya think? 
I have men writing me, who apparently do not read profiles lol, some I can't tell if they are scammers or not by the way they write. You really can get fooled. I get the ones that write, you are such an Angel that I have fallen for, yeah right lol.  It's always about angel this, angel that lol.

Anyone of too great an age spread, who wants me to email an off MD box, and lves my profile but fails to notice the "in a relationship", gets the spam button. If in doubt the spammers profile is usually a giveaway, as are ebox names like Laanhotsex@big bux.com.
But for grammar, how would I sound in a Chinese language? Many third world people want to practice their English with a penpal. The machine translators are humerous. Bad grammar is a yellow flag, but not neccessarily a red one. We have some very nice legitimate members who speak English as a second language, and MD would be poorer without them.
I think of what I would do, if I was a poor woman, living in a poor country, with good looks, and access to a computer. Would I rather see my kids grow up doing without, and me working like a dog, or try to find a husband in a richer country? Good looking women marrying prosperous men has occurred in all places, and at all times of history. The advertise sites to make the hookup right here on MD.
As a merchant seaman, many of my friends have married foreign women. Many of them, particularly those from Japan or the Phillipenes, made their husbands both happy and prosperous. But one must choose very carefully.

I get these emails all the time. If you have ever went to the link that they are trying to send to you, it's a translation website. You will have to "pay" per word for translation services. All of these emails that come from China are legit, however, they are looking to get out of China. Do you really want to communicate with a Chinese woman that CANNOT speak English?

I thought you weren't allowed to post emails  . I wish you were, we'd see all the freakin scammer email. Three a week? Geesh, you're lucky, I get 3 or more a damn day. The one I had waiting on me when I logged in today, he was obviously so excited with his email he sent it twice to me  . Funny thing is...beyond his apparent inability to compose a good email with sense making English...he was from NY, yet he was a blue eyed, blonde African American! Oh, I suppose they do exist, as I did see a green eyed, blonde African American on the Trya show last night but overall, I guess I am too suspicious, I blocked his email without reply.
