No comment on the shirt. All I know is she was brilliant in her keynote speech at the tea party convention. Pleasant and refreshing to listen to. Unlike a certain person in another party who always uses a teleprompter and who I can't listen to and is anything but "charismatic". Who I've seen thru since day one of his campaign.

Why not do it for free? Take the money and give it right back to the tea-bagger movement, that is. Why take money and give it to OTHER causes? Why are the tea-baggers being treated as the conservatives' personal ATM?
As much as this movement was started by (and continues to receive propaganda from) the right-wing leadership, it's mostly a bunch of deluded, ignorant poor people. Charging exorbitant sums for speaking appearances simply puts the leadership positions out of the range of the rank-and-file. Only the elites will have enough money to be movers-and-shakers.
In other words, Palin is just another person jumping on the "let's shear them for all they got" bandwagon.

SARAH PALIN'S SECURITY CLEARANCE
Before you dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard, consider this:
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about. According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

She's so smart that SarahPAC bought up a thousands of her own books (i.e. "royalties") to then give them out to all the lemmings who donate at least $100 back to her group. Why not use the royalties for something else, say, donate to a worthy charity? This is one cookie who is only looking out for herself.

Even if she gets lucky enough to be nominated...and I seriously doubt that.
I strongly doubt she wants to go on the campaign trail again. Since the 2008 election, she's stuck her foot in her mouth often enough to provide her Republican opponents with plenty of ammunition.
If she survived the primary, she'd have to get the middle-of-the-road voters to go for her. And the only politician in recent history who comes close to being as polarizing as Palin is Hillary Clinton. (In other words, more people would specifically vote against Palin than would specifically vote against Hillary Clinton.)
As a political celebrity, she can continue to rally the far-right voters, rake in the money, and doesn't have to worry about offending the moderates.

The democratic liberal congress has controlled the spending and budgets of our country since 2006. Since that time,,, the debt has soared, the annual short fall on revenue vs spending widened,,, etc. etc. etc.
But perhaps, the best way to look at it is this.
HOW"S YOUR WALLET TODAY, vs YOUR WALLET IN 2005. How's your sense of security of our country's ecconomic conditions? How's your investment portfolio? How's your prospects for contract work? How optamistic are your prospects for employment if you work for someone else? Is your home value going up? Can you sell a home? Can you buy a home? Are the store fronts on your main street full, or vacant? Are you happy with being a service ecconomy? Do you like that pay and benfits of Walmart vs. that manufacturing job that went overseas, and the politicians who tell you they will never come back? Well,,,, are you better off today, than in 2005?
Or, do you just not care about the finances and the money? Is it perhaps more important that we have our nations first black President,,, than one who is actually right for the job? Is it more important to have the first female speaker of the house, rather than one who is actualy right for the job?

And it certainly does not explain the even sharper upswing of the "WOE IS WE" charts,, since the smartest President to ever be elected to office has been in there.
And, it only takes ONE BUDGET, to fix the budget of an idiot. It only takes ONE TIME, to set the spending below the revenues and be fiscally responsible. IT ONLY TAKES ONE TIME. But still, the vast majority of tea baggers are Republicans. It's a Republican organization. It started as a Republican organization, it's fed by the political machine of the Republican party, and it's directed towards Republican ends.
Anyone who thinks that, given the amount of media exposure it's getting from the right-wing partisan news, and given the amount of choice "bullet points" that are being passed around the right-wing blogosphere... anyone who thinks that this isn't a part of the Republican machine is just deluding themselves.

Sarah Palin left the governorship of Alaska because she was spending hundreds of thousands of her own dollars to defend against frivolous ethics charges from conspiring liberal bloggers and Democrats. ALL ethics charges were TOSSED OUT. Because Alaska has antiquated ethics laws, she could not run the state while constantly responding to these bogus charges. The Alaska RINO Republicans allowed these investigations to proceed as payback for her successfully prosecuting their fellow Republican politicians for crimes. She would have been forced into bankruptcy if this concerted effort continued. A moose can file an ethics charge against the governor of Alaska.
She negotiated the NEW oil/gas reserve fees with the oil companies. Oil tax money has ALWAYS gone back to the Alaskan people. The oil comes from their state. Their people wanted a fair revenue share. She re-negotiated the best deal on their behalf after her Republican predecessor made a very poor negotiation. Most states take oil company taxes and gas station taxes and redistribute it to worthless welfare liberals who sit at home bitching about Palin.
The speaking engagement fee goes directly back to the Tea Party. Unlike liberals Al Gore, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Tom Daschle and Barack Obama's book royalties while still in office. Each of them personally profit without donating to charity. Obama wanted to permanently remove tax deductions to charities. Liberals don't donate to charities anyway. They tax us to death and give it to ACORN and other criminal urban organizations using the cover of non-profit.
I was going to sit out the election until Palin was nominated. McCain's own staff saw the internal polls showing him 20+ points behind unless he could find a Conservative running mate. When the polls could not show any improvement with establishment Republicans, their only hope was Palin. They were right. Saying no one would know who Palin was if not for McCain is idiocy. Most Americans can't even tell you who the vice president is!!! Unless you are a political junkie, you wouldn't even know your own state legislator to the House of Representatives. I make this point by asking liberals that question to prove their political ignorance and blind talking points.
Obama voting states of New Jersey and Virginia just elected Republican governors. Ultra liberal Massachusetts (Ted Kennedy/gay marriage) just elected a Republican as Senator. Senator Brown's political platform was against Obama Death Care, against Cap and Trade, against everything Obama was running for. Brown's Campaign platform and issues. People are tired of Obama's lies, Reid's lies, Pelosi's lies, Democrat lies. The country is continuously sliding into a deeper recession, 8 million jobs lost, and a massive deficit... Democrats have been controlling the House and Senate from 2006 to today (filibuster proof majority!)... They write ALL of the Bills. The 2008 federal deficit was $458 billion and in 2009 it has tripled to $1.417 trillion the highest amount ever. The Democrats just increased the debt ceiling again!

Palin bought votes with taxing corporations. Something that would be decried if done by any Democrat, but okay if it's done by any Republican, apparently...
The "sexist" remarks directed at Palin are about as much by Republicans (maybe moreso...) as by Democrats. There is a large gender divide in who wants Palin in the White House, with men having a much larger approval rating for Palin than women. The Republicans are judging her based on how good her legs look, and not by her ability.
There are conservative Democrats. Lots of them. They're just not as conservative as you are, that's all. Dividing the public into a simple three-cubbyhole distribution seriously ignores the complexity. People can be conservative on one issue, and liberal on another. A poll was taken where people were asked their positions on a series of questions, and based on their responses, they were classified as one of five categories (plus various "too close to call" borderlines). The survey found that 32% classified as centrist, 16% as libertarian, 14% as authoritarian, 13% as liberal, 7% as conservative, and 17% were borderline between two or more categories.

It was a poll by libertarians. "Citizens for Self-Government," or some such like that. So of course, they defined what positions on the various questions went to which political position.
But given it's libertarian, they'd hardly be inclined to inflate the numbers of liberals, eh?
Basically, they pulled out the authoritarians and libertarians (and the various "borderlines") out from what's called "conservative" (and part of "moderate") from his categorization.

Well, you know, there are just some days... my 16 year old daughter ran off at midnight last night to be with a boy, my brother in law is very near death, my wife's job is tettering from the economy, my wife's uncle said yesterday he's being laid off after 30+ years with the local plant, sheriff showed up looking for my daughter this pm ...on and on. I've had one hour's sleep wondering what to do with my kid... The Palin thing just seems so stupid, I could not resist.
