25 million people unemployed or underemployed. Unemployment has been over 8% every single month since Obama took office except for the very first month when he inherited an unemployment rate below 8% from President Bush.

Obama promised that if we let him spend the trillions of dollars he wanted, and put the country into a record level of debt, that unemployment would never go over 8%. Since then there have been 42 consecutive months of unemployment over 8%, the longest period of high unemployment of any president ever. Obama and his Democrats controlled both houses of Congress for two years and Obama got every single thing he wanted: the biggest government spending bills in the history of the country by far. Where are the jobs Mr. President?

You're doing a pretty good job making accusations against other people, demonizing and breaking America up into little pieces. And you've managed to figure out how to spend the country into the biggest debt we have ever had, forcing our children and grandchildren to have to spend their entire lives having to bear the burden of repaying it. And thanks to your great fiscal management America lost its AAA credit rating that it had for 70 years before you became president. But where are the jobs Mr. President? Where are the jobs?

Someone in another thread said that the reason that the unemployment rate is at a record level under under Obama is because of Romney outsourcing:

My response in case anyone wants to try to make that case here....

===
Right... Romney outsourcing. If you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

Romney hasn't been at Bain Capital since 1999. He has not been involved in any position that has anything to do with any kind of "outsourcing" unless, of course, you consider the Olympics outsourcing.

Bush was president from 2000- 2008. The unemployment rate while Bush was president was 5.2%, one of the lowest under any president ever.

Now we are supposed to believe that Romney outsourcing is the reason that Obama has the worst unemployment record of any president ever when Obama didn't even become president until 2009?

Next excuse...

Easy question.

The jobs are in China, right where Bush and his cronies sent them.

Except for the ones in Dubai, where Dick Cheney moved Halliburton headquarters.

When did outsourcing jobs to foreign countries begin?
Posters here seem to forget it started long ago, it picked up steam during Bush II's administration, a Republican, a Conservative.
And Romney was in that era

Right... Bush and Cheney sent so many jobs to China that the unemployment rate under Bush -- for 8 years -- was 40% lower than it is now under Obama.

That makes lots of sense.

Yep, you finally got something almost right
Nowhere did I say Bush and Cheney outsourced jobs

I used that as a reference to Romney's era at Bain

That makes lots of sense.

It does if you study Bush's "job Creation".

For example, he reclassified flipping burgers at MacDonalds as "light manufacturing". No new jobs, just new labels on the old ones.

I wonder if the kids, (MacDonald being the biggest child labor contractor in the country) got a raise from their sub-minimum wage, with their new status.

Nonsense. The methodology used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to calculate the unemployment rate is the same under Obama as it was under Bush. There is no material difference.

In spite of the record debt Obama incurred, the unemployment rate under Bush -- using the same calculation -- was 40% lower than under Obama. There is no way around that.

However, because so many people have completely given up finding work since Obama became president, far more than the formula ever intended to be used for, and those people are not counted as unemployed even though they are, that same calculation underrepresents the real unemployment rate under Obama. Because of this factor, Obama's unemployment rate looks much lower than it really is. If that loophole were closed, Obama's rate of unemployment would probably exceed Bush's by at least 80%.

If I recall correctly it all started during Reagan's presidency with
Outsourcing/ Manufacturing

Over time, manufacturing companies discovered that they could outsource the production of consumer goods, such as clothing items, shoes, and toys. By the 1970s, many consumer electronics products were manufactured overseas. Companies looked to workers in foreign countries to work in factories due to lower labor costs. Once company owners were confident they could outsource manufacturing functions and shipping costs to get the goods to market decreased, more of them decided to outsource this portion of their business to other countries

There is no way around that.

Not for Obama. All the jobs that could be "reclassified" already were before he got there.

There are none for him to put a new label on if he wanted to.

Over and out for today.

I am not in favor of forcing the entire population of America to pay higher prices for things that people are willing to make in other countries for less cost than we can here.

I would rather that we focus on creating jobs doing the many things that we do so much better than anyone else at any price: the innovation, the design, the high technology manufacturing. Let them do the grunt work and have their governments subsidize us by selling us things cheaper than we can make or do them ourselves. Every American consumer benefits from that (which includes EVERYONE).

Subsidizing inefficient and draconian production methods hurts everyone and is a losing formula for an economy.

Romney is not outsourcing jobs, he is not even the one in the White House. Obama has let jobs leave the country. There used to be tons of CSR jobs, I'm not just talking in banks, I mean in company offices, but....they aren't here any longer. There also used to be tons of computer jobs, also, gone, gone to India etc.

Unemployment is actually much higher then 8% because so many people including myself are no longer eligible for it and no longer able to file for benefits and those people are not being counted in the unemployment figures.

I never thought I'd see the day when people had to go into their 401K money just to be able to pay their bills, their mortgages, put food on the table for their families. People's savings are getting depleted. But....Obama is more considered about rights for illegals.

Where Are The Jobs Mr. President?

all taken,,,,sorry,,,,,,there are only so many jobs to go around and they are all already filled,,,,,

were you under the impression there is an unlimited supply of jobs for this ever increasing pollution due to manufactured babies and right wing nuts denying people the right to do with their bodies as they choose?

are you unaware of action/consequences??? supply and demand? these are basic concepts......

when the supply=people exceeds the demand=jobs

you end up with what we have here

but keep discussing everything BUT the real problem,,it's how we got here in the first place

didn't the Chinese figure this out decades ago?
no wonder they kick our ass,,no asshat conservatives over there is there!!!!
abortion! hell,,,you can only LEGALLY have one child!

One-child policy=This policy was introduced in 1978 and initially applied to first-born children from 1979. It was created by the Chinese government to alleviate social, economic, and environmental problems in China,[4] and authorities claim that the policy has prevented more than 250 million births between 1980 and 2000,[2] and 400 million births from about 1979 to 2011;[5]this claim is disputed by two independent scholars, who put the number of prevented births from 1979 to 2009 at 100 million[6]. The policy is controversial both within and outside China because of the manner in which the policy has been implemented, and because of concerns about negative social consequences.[7] The policy has been implicated in an increase in forced abortions,[8] female infanticide, and underreporting[9] of female births, and has been suggested as a possible cause behind China's gender imbalance. Nonetheless, a 2008 survey undertaken by the Pew Research Center reported that 76% of the Chinese population supports the policy.[10]

When did outsourcing jobs to foreign countries begin?

Never thought there were so many deniers of the truth ... the PLANE TRUTH is that high taxes and unions started sending jobs out ... JUST LOOK AT AUTOMOTIVE

6 out of the 10 most american made cars are Toyota's, Honda, and Hyundai ... while Michigan raised their corporate tax rates to near 6% and unions were SOAKING the big 3 at over $100/hr/employee the big 3 sent their jobs to Mexico, China, Canada ..

get a clue really

The heart of the problem with any government is that the people in government who spend the money aren't the people who earned it. It's not their money, so what do they care how it gets spent? That is at the heart of why all government is corrupt.

We need to keep more money in the hands of the people who earn it so the decisions about how it is spent are made by the people who are rightfully entitled to make those decisions.

And the way to do that is to recognize that all government is corrupt and have the smallest, least intrusive government possible consistent with an orderly society. That was the the foundation of understanding from the genius of America's Founding Fathers. They understood that government is not a friend to the people no matter how benign. It is a necessary evil that must be carefully controlled and kept to the absolute necessary minimum at all times so as not to overpower the people and the individual citizen. Big government is evil government and our government is WAY TOO BIG.
