Happy blah blah to me. Okay, so I officially turned 35 roughly nine months ago today. Thanks to a friend for pointing out that we are as old as the day of our conception. You remain a young person for a long time, I realize, and it's only when you get up in years that you realize that. You look at older people when you're younger and think man, they're old but when you get to be their age one day, it's not so old. I used to think thirty somethings were ancient when I was a teen. Haha. Now, I think older adulthood starts at age 40. That's gonna be weird because I've been young my entire life. I'm going to make the last five years count. Of course I'm just rambling now...life isn't over when you turn 40. It's just weird if you've never experienced it before. Turning 30 was rude but I think I've learned and adapted now. Bring it on!

Pacha: Uh-oh.
Kuzco: Don't tell me. We're about to go over a huge waterfall.
Pacha: Yep.
Kuzco: Sharp rocks at the bottom?
Pacha: Most likely.
Kuzco: Bring it on.

At 58....age has never bothered me as much as it does others mainly because there is nothing one can do about it....I remember when I turned 50....a major thing for some just came and went without any drama....but what does bother me is ones health seems to change.....but even so...you just try and take better care of yourself...I quit smoking and got my blood pressure under control and my blood sugar started getting high but even that can be managed....but you have to give up a few things you like to eat....and it also seems there are a lot of younger girls out there for me to look at.....and that's what I do....just look as I'm much too old to make a move towards any of them plus we wont have anything in common.....but getting older is not as bad as I thought it would be....just like being single...its all just a state of mind.....and other than having to think harder to remember what use to come easy......im kind of enjoying being a grandfather and living a quiet life of non drama and looking forward to early retirement so I can do what I want when I want......cookie

You remain a young person for a long time

We are floating (or sinking) in a sea of "extended adolescence." With higher "education," you can be 22 or almost 30 before you're capable of earning a living. Next come years of indentured servitude for the student loans. Such fun being a kid.

I joined the Army when I was 20. At age 32, I tried civilian life and joined the fire department. At 43, I started driving trucks. When I turned 50, I started working for a convenience store. One morning I woke up and realized I'd been there for 10 years. 5 years later, I was in hospital, deciding it was time to retire. That was last year. The long run of time is indelible, and you'll find it, too. Moments of wakefulness will come, and you'll realize today is now, not some distant future. Be mindful of the seasons, not with dread or fear, but with anticipation, "for the times, they are a'changin'!"

Thanks everyone for the great comments and for being transparent.

I had a nice relaxing day today. Someone also took me to buy an article of clothing that I didn't try on at the store out of courtesy to his time. Well I brought them home and they(leggings) ended up being smaller than I thought because the sticker was different than the tag. I tried them on anyway and they fit perfectly! 35 never felt so good!

Bob say hello to Chuck for me. Love that lil' kitty.
