It has been nearly five months that I have been on MatchDoctor blogging away. Note: If you are reading this blog on my soon-to-be-created website blog archives, you will NOT see any principles posted in this blog, as you can go to “the Principles” page to read them. As for the rest of you, you might have noticed that sprinkled through out my blog, are “principles” - my own personal rules for living that I take seriously and that I try to practice every day. Until now, I haven't bothered to give much of an explanation; I just sorta threw'em up in my blog.
One by one... gradually, I started writing these. They would come through various forms of inspiration...like someone's good deed, some lesson learned, a mistake made, or maybe just the sight of something beautiful, or anything else that provoked me to thinking (yeah, I know...Dangerous!). But many times, it would just be the end result of finally coming to a resolution with myself, as to certain values I hold, or how I believe morally about something in particular..
While, it has taken five short months to post them all, it has taken four years to compile them...until they have grown into the 59 that they are, today. In fact, fifteen of the principles were added, since I started blogging five months ago. And that list will continue to grow, as my views continue to develop and mature, and as I continue to be inspired by the beauty, moved by all the good and, unfortunately, the evil, that I witness in my days in this world. In other words, we all - each of us - are like a fine wine – that is, those of us who choose to be open to self-improvement. There never comes a time, while you live and breath in this life, that it becomes too late to continue to learn and change ...and to become a better person!
Up to now, I've tried not to be in the habit of re-posting material that I have already posted (successfully!), but for the sake of carrying on, perhaps, a trademark unique to my blog, I will make one small exception: Every now and then, I will re-post one of the principles that I have already posted – either randomly, or according to what seems appropriate for that day. But, from now on, they will be posted much less frequently. I guess sort of like showing re-runs of Family Ties, once the show went out of production. And as I come up with new principles, I will, of course, share those with you as well.:) Ahhh.... Family Ties... Cheers... The Jeffersons.... Now those are classics! I miss the days when television was still good...
“Should my neighbor want to know myself, my thoughts, my ambitions, the course of my actions, past or future, mysterious or ordinary, one need only look upon these Principles. For, these - that which I believe from the bottom of my soul, that which I strive to adhere to from the deepest depths of my heart - they are an open book, and scrawled upon her pages, the fundamentals of my belief system; my guidelines to happiness, to peaceful co-existence with the world; my unending journey to become more like the person I strive to be but never am.”
