Hey folks.. guess what? Yep. Here's yet another rule to go along with my rules of Life. And this one's about the need for privacy!
We all know there are alot of blabbermouths and busybodies in the world. Oh, and let's not forget identity thieves! Like any dignified human being, I value my privacy very much. Let me say that I believe in honesty and openness, but I think everyone needs their own space - their own secluded domain, if you will - to keep all these noseys in check!
This is not to be construed to mean that I believe spouses or lovers shouldn't have to tell the other one where they're going or what they've been doing! They have a RIGHT to know this. In fact, I think you have the right to know EVERYTHING about the person who sleeps in the same bed as you every night!
That is, of course, a helluva lot more than what that meddlesome neighbor or homeowner's association needs to know! In many cases, it's sometimes even none of your parents' business! Yet, with the right information in the wrong hands, you often put yourself at the mercy of those who might wish to exploit you or disrupt your goals in life - or some disgruntled foe who might wish to embarrass you with said information. Hence, the need to utter the words "I will never tell!" Or put more bluntly "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!"
Principle 60 - "The Secrecy Principle"
Keep unbeknownst to each your neighbors, respectively, particular personal affairs of yours, that they are not entitled to know, which, in so knowing, would likely be used by them to wrongly interfere, hinder, or assert control, over any aspect of your life, or in some way, would be used against you unjustifiably, or for some other purpose of a mischievous or malevalent nature.
