Haven't spoken to my buddy on such a while – until now. I wish it could have been under better circumstances. I managed to get in contact with him after I learned from Jill that he had been mugged  last night by three guys, as he went on a short errand to go buy some food for someone! Jill told me the assailants put him into a headlock, beat him up, and stole everything he had on his person! How could this happen to him? This upsets me and it breaks my heart to see this happen to my friend.:(  He has been targeted before because of his disability  – however I think there's probably another factor involved as well that I can't even get into here on MD. He considers this his own "war on terrorism." Think about it. How much of a spineless coward does someone have to be to go rob and beat up on someone as defenseless as Ben is?!?!  I hope the police catch these pieces of scum that did this to him!
On a brighter note, Jill, told me she finally managed to get into a place of her own. Until now, she had been living with a couple of friends, who were taking turns providing her shelter. Also, for the past six months, she has had this job, she really likes, working for a boss who treats her with respect (something her last boss didn't know the meaning of). Oh yeah, and he's also her boyfriend.
Due to the job, she no longer goes to the church she used to go to. She had to quit the choir there, as well. It's been about six months. I guess with the responsibility of having a job, and raising kids, there just isn't enough time for her to do that anymore. It is amazing, less than a year ago, her life was in tatters – now there is stability in her life again. She is a very brave person to have taken the path she did.
