It's now raining very hard here. However, this may be the extent of it. VERY good news to everyone down here, who had feared the storm would intensify, as forecasters believed it would. The storm is now centered over the Keys and rapidly heading northwest toward the Florida mainland at 15 mph, where from that point on, it can only weaken.

I have a good feeling that this thing will blow over, by tomorrow evening like a bad case of overnight constipation. Still, though, I have had contact with most of my online friends and even some of my off line ones, in anticipation of a possible multi-day power outage. Hopefully now we can rule that scenario out. Nonetheless, every large plastic container I own now sits atop the dining room table filled to the brim with water from the sink – along with two empty 2-liter soda bottles in my bedroom.

Take care everyone, and to all my Florida friends, be safe in this storm!

I'm enjoying your blogs about the storm..I live on the coast in S.C. and we're under a hurricane advisory where I am. I'm not far from the Charleston harbor that was hit with a cat #4(Hugo) in '89! Dreadful damn storm,,wiped us out for awhile but you can't keep people down that are determined to help themselves instead of waiting for the government to come in and save them. We'll probably get some heavy rain and a little wind.

We're ready or at least I am!! Be safe, sweet man!

Glad to hear the storm is not going to be as severe and you're ready to face it with all that water. My aunt lived in NC, and they moved up here after their last hurricane. Now they complain of the snow!! Stay safe with all your friends! You're in our prayers!
