Call me Old Fashion, But I have spent hours and days, trying to justify the use of this word. " Blog" Yes, we have come a long way baby, to get where 'blog' today'. I was just trying to imagine how people would have looked at us, you or me, or whomever, back in school in 1968 or 69 or even 70, if we had used the word 'Blog'. It sounds like something that falls across the road in front of your car on a dark stormy night in a gargantious thunder storm. Right out of no where! My Buckets got a blog in it, I can't by no beer..... To anyone under 30 that probably won't register.... Yes, I would say we have come a long, long way. We sit around thinking up things to blog about' instead of getting out there and doing something real. I'm going down this road feeling 'Blog' but I ain't gonna feel this way long...." Yes, there are even rules to it all, we have been warned about "indecent Blogging'' so we can't break the Bloggers code... Maybe its just where I grew up, I am not sure. But I can just imagine the look on my Grandma Moore's face, if' when I was about 7 or 10 years old, I had come to her and said "Grandama, can you loan me a dollar, so I can get on line and make a blog?" She would probably have washed my mouth out with soap and told my mother I was using really bad language... Of course, since there were no such things as desktop computers in most homes in 1965 or even 75 for that matter.. She would probably have thought I was talking about getting on the clothes line and releaving myself... Just before she took the switch to me...
Well, ok we all evolved in the computer age, so we know a little more than grandma did... Or do we? Sometimes I wonder. I guess the reason I decided to get onto this 'Blog Thing' and just let my mind ramble, is because I guess I would like to see life get simple again.. I love a simple life... Don't anyone else out there like a simple life??????? This all seems complicated, let me rephrase, 'Overly complicated' Where have we gone to? Look behind at where we started, and where we came from, and now just look at where we have come to.... Seems that no one can just go out and meet someone any more. Like we did before computers... Yes I agree, sitting behind the screen in the safty and comfort of your home, is MORE CONVENIENT', but No, Not simple.. The whole electronic age thing is a complication. Is there anyone out there who would just like to turn off the computer and go out and meet people, and trust in life and people once again?? God' I hope so, Oh sorry I don't think I am allowed to use that word anymore... Devine Power' I hope so... Ok, I have been able to deal with most of the crap that comes down the pipeline, (from people) no less.. But when this Blog thing came round.... I laughed for 2 days about this word..
Did someone create this word just for computer use?? because we all can't get off our butts and go out and meet someone nice to spend time with, or get married to...?? Because I tell ya, I am an X Universtiy Professor, and I can't find that word in the WebsterNew World Dictionary, with Student hand book' Does this whole thing NOT seem rediculess to anyone else but me??
Well, I for one would really like to get back to real time, real life..
And if this (blog) is posted, and any of you are reading it, then I guess the powers that be, where internet is concerned, saw fit not to remove me for the site... But most likey, it this will not be posted in as much as I may have broken a dozen or so of the laws of "Blogging", The best thing I can say about this word is that is rhymes with Jogging... Ok... fine folks, friends, fellow bloggers.... feel free to contact me, and lets get back to real life.
The truth is, I do look for things to make me laugh, like this word.
Because I like to 'Feel Good'... Laughing makes me feel good... So if you have any comments or wish to contact me, for any reason, that is not directed at MAKING ME FEEL GOOD... It's probably a waste of time. But just remember my fellow cyber zombies, Life is short, so Laugh it up, and a Laugh a day, keeps the doctor away.... not to mention a lot of people who think you are insane... wink..
