Inspired (by a webcomic, no less), I sat down tonight and wrote a story (circa 1500 words) for a children's picture book. First draft, anyway, but I think -- in all my 4 a.m. wisdom -- a pretty clean one. I call it The Little Troll Who Lived Under The Slide (guess what it's about).
Now I have rewrite it, decide whether I should illustrate it or let someone else, if yes then illustrate it, find an agent/publisher, blah blah blah, but this is the first time in many, many years I've just decided to sit down and write something like this from start to finish.
Go, me.

Way to go !!!!!!
Just PLEASE make sure it's edited properly. My biggest pet peeves when reading any type of book, is finding errors in punctuation, spelling and grammer (although I know some authors do take a bit of creative license with this)
congrats!! and hope to see it on bookstores everywhere soon.

Way to go! I need to get back to mine....last one I did was a rhyming one. Submitted it to several places (needless to say rejected by all, but got one positive comment back). Mine is What Do I Count When I Can't Sleep. The illustrations would be a big part of it's appeal but I can't draw. Keep us updated!!

Congratulations! Of course, as you know, LuLu.com is always available if you want to self publish .. and no, I don't get paid to say that.
Speaking of writing, what is all this weirdness about someone plagiarizing blogs? I've seen it mentioned a few times in blogs and comments. Do you know what's up with that?
