Warmest of greetings to all my friends in Match Doctor Land. As I type it's still -7 outside with a wind chill near -30. Last nights low was -13 & tonight we're aiming for -17 with wind chill factors nearing -45 @ times. Looking outside though, it's decieving.. the sun is out & there's not a cloud in the sky. Although this weather is too cold for even Winter enthusiasts to enjoy outdoor activities (except ice fishermen / women that have heated ice shacks), the silver lining to it all is that bitter cold like this kills off strains of viruses that are going around. So, if you're single like myself, & quite a few of you others on here, that leaves that $5,000 question on what to do.. Well, I've come up with 5 ideas that may get "swept under the carpet" other times when life is busier....

-- go through clothes & other things you haven't used in 12-18 months & ask yourself if you're really ever going to use it again anytime soon. If not, start some boxes for Goodwill or Salvation Army.

-- get caught up on e-mails, snail mail, & update your postal address book

-- call people you haven't talked to in a while. Call people you talk to often also.

-- go through the fridge, & cupboards & check for expired items.

-- NAP!! Many people are on the go so much that they rarely get the proper amount of rest.

Granted I'm sure many of you may already do these things.. maybe not. And I know these may not exactly be things that are fun or enjoyable. These are just ideas that have helped me. If anyone else has unique ideas, please by all means share away. I'm always looking for new & creative ways to pass time on inclement days. Stay warm & well. God's blessings to you.

I have a # 6 for your list. Get in the old bark-o- lounger kick back and think of the warmer days too come !! THINK SPRING !! Hey we're having a heat wave in the windy today. It's about +7 outside. Think I'll put on my speedo ( now there's a very very sicking sight and thought) and run a couple of laps around the block.

Cold here as well on the eastern side of the state and I get the luck of being between two lakes....So cold that the ABS is frozen up on the car - nice - especially since this is when I need it the most...

Oh well, I am going to sit back and do some writing and reading - but mainly (kids are off on a play date) - chat with my SO online since it is way to cold to travel.

suggestion #7: read a good book! How many people out there *especially the moms* have time to actually sit down and read a novel? Stay warm over there, neighbor, and maybe make a pot of soup or chili

It's been below zero here since late yesterday, and the wind chill factor will keep it there for a few more days...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

So much for the lack of winter earlier, eh?

Stay warm!

Things to do when it is bitterly cold outside:

Arrange and organize vacation photos.

Organize your closet, label everything.

Make hot cocoa.

Bake brownies.

Can you see I'm on a chocolate theme lol.

Order language cds online, teach yourself a new language.

Order books online (Edward R. Hamilton bookseller), great bookstore, very inexpensive prices too.

Redecorate the house.

Make homemade Christmas ornaments for next year.

Invite neighbors over to play board games and drink hot cider.

That's all I can think of lol.
