I had a wonderful day. My son came over for a late breakfast before heading off to his 12 hour shift. He starts his new position with the company on March 5th when he gets his normal life and kisses shift work goodbye. His wife is extremely happy about this too.
I did all the errands I needed and then headed out to take some pictures of the mallards that winter over on a pond near me. There is one point on my ride to Benton to the pond, where there is a pull-off... an overlook of the entire Benton farmland area. I think it calls to me each time, as even if I am not already set on stopping, my mind hears the siren call of the picturesqueness of this magical place.
Sitting there and looking over the valley below.. watching the hawks play overhead is always a treat for me.. that is my time to listen and watch the sounds of silence... the grace of God, the beauty of nature. The sunsets here in the country are amazing... they look like some works of art that I have seen from a talented painter.. the baby blue background canvas is always tinged with marvelous goldent backlight, and when the blazing orange sun lowers itself to kiss the earth goodnight, the pinks of the blush of that first kiss each night light the sky with streams and splotches of fuschias, pinks, oranges and gold and the clouds realize it is time for them to turn back and head toward the heavens and turn to light violet and lilac.. I never tire of them.
I have had all the elements that make me happiest today.. family, friends, beauty .. it was, indeed, a wonderful day of first experiences!!!
What is missing? Someone who would watch these things with me.. someone that would hold my hand and let me rest my head in the crook of his neck while I took pictures that we could look at together during the years of our love. I get the astrological readings each day..mostly for fun and I love to compare what they have to say and see it it truly comes true.. today's card that was drawn for me and what it means:
