Yes, maybe you do not have that special someone in your life to share this day with and that can be pretty darn lonely I know. To help with the lonely feeling wouldn't it help you feel better to go and buy roses, card, or dinner with say a widowed family member or friend? I know of someone whose children live quite a distance and her husband died in the last year after 50+ years of marriage. Now that has to make this a lonely day for them so I plan on buying her a rose and having dinner with her. I am sure it will help both of us...

I assume you are saying it was in a "Dear Abbey" column, cool. I also assume you are implying that is where I got the idea from which is wrong, but I care less what you think...for even if I did get the idea there it is a great one to spread around.
