But you know what? You were right everyone. They are still a lot of fun 
Maybe we got out best comment every when a caller called in (what else would a caller do, huh?)
Anyway, this guy calls in and I crack some joke and tell him we appreciate him staying with us as it seems the equipment and us are having a few problems tonight. He said that is what makes the show fun. He finds us (my DJ partner and I) the best because we cover well, laugh at whatever we happened to do wrong and share it with the audience so they can laugh with us. He said he wished we were on everynight. Of course I pointed out if we were on everynight we might actually figure out what we were doing and then he might get bored and move to another station. I left him laughing and it was a lot of fun.
Did I tell you about our dead air? Lacey and I are having this wonderful conversation, just a few minutes of course because people are there for the music, but we are just throwing some things out there and it feels so natural and good. Anyone looking at us would have thought, wow, these two are really getting the hang of it. Heck, we thought we were!
That is until I reached over to turn off the speakers and realized that neither of us had turned them on in the first place!! So we get on and let our audience know that they missed one heck of a conversation but you know what they say, "You can't go back" cracked a couple jokes at our own expense - teasing each other and pretty much told everyone oh well, too bad, your loss so back to the music.
I wish I could remember exactly what we said - it was so darn funny!! Doesn't sound so funny when I write it here. You'll just have to trust me on that one 
Now we have to come up with a PSA and commercial. I'm trying to think of a humorous commercial. My son thinks we should do something on vivarin. But I'm having a little trouble with the plot here.... I don't care what we do it on. The commercial won't air, it's just for fun and practice though it does have to be a real product. So we should have some fun with it.
The PSA (public service announcement) can possible air but still would like humor as well. I was of course leaning toward the animal welfare aspect but Lacey would like to do something like donating blood. As I still have all my notes and old PSA's and such packed away from the animal welfare work, I think I will defer to Lacey. So the PSA may have a more serious tone - but one humorous and one silly still works.
Let's see what else did we do. I'm announcing this free pancake supper and can't find the time of the event, Okay I know, common sense is to read the article BEFORE making the announcement (it's a little too late to tell me that common sense solution now). The phone number was easy to find so we went with that.
Weather report: Why would the computer mess up exactly at the time we are ready to announce the weather? Because it's Lacey and Karen on the air!!! So what was the Oklahoma weather in our area for that first announcement?
"Cold" "Stick with us for further developments and to find out just how cold it is!"
We discovered If you hit the wrong button at the wrong time you can completely shut a song off. So what do you say? "Well Lacey, now we know what that button does. Stick around everyone and we'll play some more 'what does that button." Lacey: "Do you think we should start that song over? Karen "We could... "Together "NOT! And here's some music you will really like, or we do anyway and we're at the controls.... Something along those lines.
So yeah, we made our share of mistakes but we had fun. I think the radio station is turning out to be a release of sorts. I am almost disappointed when the other crew comes in!!
So anyway, thats how the station is going. It is still in one piece and nothing has caught fire, blown up or wiped the screens completely out (Guess we just haven't found those buttons yet)!!
