I just read on MSNBC that a woman, the wife of a soldier who is busy fighting for this country, was arrested, tried, and convicted of attacking another car with a missile aka: paper glass with ice in it, and is now sentenced to two years in jail.
In addition she has been fined - there were other charges involved.
Now, personally, I think she did do something wrong, regardless of whether she was provoked or not, and certainly something should happen to her.
Like, say, she should lose a point on her license and have a cup of ice thrown at her so she can get how unpleasant it is. Which is a thing far too insane to consider doing in this day and age but which many judges throughout history, before we started being so tolerant of criminals, would have considered a fine option .. if they didn't punish the other driver instead Thank goodness for progress!
Of course, there is always community service to be done. Which, strangely enough, even persons who are transgressors of the Third Strike law have been given in place of a prison sentence based on extenuating circumstances.
There was a man who I remember reading about who molested his own daughter from when she was 2 years of age (that is as young as he admits to, anyway) until she was 6 years of age when he got caught. It was not only molestation, though; it was also physical damage caused by that molestation which is how he did get caught. It was also physical, mental, and emotional abuse to keep her quiet so he wouldn't get caught.
He worked for DFYS aka: OCPS : the Office of Child Protective Services.
His close relative, who ran one OCPS office for one city was covering up for him. That relative was transferred to a different office and given slightly less authority.
The child molesting freak was given 6 months in jail
Now, before I go on, let me say this : I do not believe this is about men vs women, despite that one person I mentioned was a woman and one was a man. I have heard of two many other cases where there were stark inequalities of justice served to various persons but where they were all of the same sex, sexual persuasion, race, etc. So I don't know what the reasons are, outside of some very odd social perceptions, but I don't think it's that sort of prejudiced in most cases. Okay, so these happened in different States and different States have different laws but I know 1) There is a Federal guideline for any and all laws for the States and 2) Even in the same States this sort of unequal justice occurs all the time.
6 months for ruining a child's life, and also her mother's presumably, and conspiracy as well: but 2 years for hurling ice into another car which was, to quote one of the victims "sticky and gross".
If that's not madness, then what is?

They ought to kill the sob that did that to the little girl. I know if someone did or even tryed to do something like that to my little girl I would kill them. Most guys that go up for that get it in prison if they are put with other guys and about the ice Im with you thats really crazy Where do you live I want to make sure I never come there

Oh the ice thing didn't happen where I live That was in Virginia
I am from Alaska, which is where that guy was and which story ties in directly to why I don't have custody of my children and my husband does, actually.
But Alaska is a very wonderful place, despite that sort of thing and really craziness happens everywhere.
But I certainly shan't drive in Virginia.

They ought to kill the sob that did that to the little girl Oh, but with the proper counseling, maybe even the right meds, I'm sure this poor person, who of course had a rough childhood, is so misunderstood, and probably had too much sugar in his diet, can be rehabilitated...
What hope can there be for someone who would do something so violent as throw a glass of ice through a window??
Fkn political correctness!!!

Through an open window at that so it was obviously a premeditated crime and since it was thrown that makes it a missile so now she shoot be shot at sunrise for Treason since she is obviously a spouse of a soldier of this war and therefore an American citizen and therefore when she committed that vicious assault she did it as someone who was rebellilng against America itself .
Not only that but she lives in a country where some of it's citizens have burned the American flag and made death threats against the American President.
Which by the way, the last death threat I heard of, which was actually a female calling out to others to "Kill The President", earned the person a suspension from school and a good talking to from the FBI or CIA or .. whomever.
So, again, you can call out for people to kill the President of the United States of America and get a slap on the wrist or you can hurl ice at low velocity towards someone who almost ran you off the road and get two years in prison and fines.
Which, by the way, the guy who almost ran her and her pregnant passenger off the road got in no trouble at all!

Virginia is a very messed up state! One of my best friends used to live there and he said that Virginia like several states now will pull a guys license for unpaid child support (back pay even if the offender is paying) yet they let second, third and fourth time DUI offenders keep their license. The reasoning? Well they have to get to work to pay their bills. This is insaine. If the Guys paying child support can't get to work, how are they supposed to pay their support? The whole system out there is screwed up! Child Molestors are sick and unfortunatly there's no easy answer, some say kill the bastards, but why kill them if your not going to execute the drug dealers out there, after all when they sell to children, thats molestation too!

Southern justice is especially hard to understand - laws by the "good ole' boy" system is very unfair and needs to be reformed!!! But hey, you can't have some gal running around throwing ice missles at cars!!! That could P.O. some good ole' boy!!! They should fry the A-hole ( and the judge!!!) that did that to the child -
