I guess it's true that real life is funnier than comedy. This is an actual conversation I had with someone today! (sorry, to all you folks in the Fla Forum who may have already read this.)
This morning, while helping one of my gardening customers, she observed that all of the plants in her front yard were doing quite well. Well, all of them, except for the one in the corner of the lawn near the street. I could see that, indeed, that one was quite droopy and, in fact, looked terrible. I asked what could be the problem with that while all the other ones were doing so good. She said it was because the newspaper delivery guy would manage to whack the plant everyday when he delivered the newspaper. Apparently when he would toss it, it would always seem to land squarely on the plant. "For so long, I couldn't figure out what was causing the plant to look like that" she said, "and then one morning it hit me."
