Ran into a blog where a man was complaining about the way some "Christians" act (as if some non-christians don't) and saying that this is why he doesn't believe in God and is not a Christian "because of people like this." .

This is my comment to his blog, which I'm posting as my own blog because I'm not sure, as it says above, that it will be approved as a comment.

And that right there makes you the same as the persons you have issues with. Well, not totally the same but. . why are you believing it, just because they say it? And if you do believe it, just because they say it, why don't you believe it all the way?

God hates homosexuality, he said so. God hates rape. God hates war. God hates people who abuse their children. God hates hypocrites. And God really hates being lied about.

Do you know what the word hate means? It means you love it (whatever you hate) less. So there you go .. if you do those things, then God is going to choose the people who listen to him and don't do them over you. He will love you less, he will love them more.

If you had a friend who came over and continually took a dump on your couch, you might not want to let them in anymore too. So let's not pretend you are different from God in that respect. If someone is acting bad, disrespecting you, not believng anything you say, you certainly do love them less than the people who treat you well.

However, that is for people who are in a chronic state of being. If you absolutely refuse to talk to him, to listen to him, to share with him, you aren't actually giving him a lot of choice. However, he gave you both a guidebook and a brain so that you do have a choice. He will love you until whatever point you tell him it's a lost cause. That's why he's God and Pat Robertson, for instance, is not.

You don't believe in God, according to you, because humans are idiots?? How does that even make sense. If you want to know if you should believe in God, shouldn't you be talking to God?? Finding out what he happens to think about those people? How patiently he's been waiting for both them and you to knock your shite off and just talk to him already?

There is a vast difference between what you are saying God stands for and what the Bible says God stands for. Why do you let people you don't even respect interpret your truths and choose the path down which you will travel? Are you really going to let the bullies stand there and jeer and block your way?

Well then, turn around and walk the other way, but don't blame God. He was waiting for you to make your move towards walking past them just like you ever intended to visit him in the first place. If you can't do that much .. what are you even complaining about?

Here's what I didn't remember to say to him, based on him saying he'd take his chances in hell: There is no hell! That's not even a Christian teaching.

Know your enemy! If you choose to fight against God, then for the sake of your own integrity, find out who and what you are actually fighting against! Hate him, if you must hate God, for what he is and what he stands for. Don't hate him for the actions of other people who also turned away from him.. and stop believing hypocrites before your believe your own basic senses.

If the teaching sounds that wrong, then maybe that is because it really is that wrong! Maybe it's because you don't understand it .. or maybe it's because someone has taught it wrongly or is lying about it directly. Find out.. then judge, if you must.

That is all!

Well .. despite the general tone, it was an interesting blog .. and a far more interesting profile he had too. I think the blog is entitled 'God That Hates' or 'The God That Hates' It's better than a lot of stuff on here .. at least he is saying something, even if I don't agree with what it is. lol

I'm not a christian myself, but I do believe the number of true christians is a lot smaller than those who claim to be. Some use it as a crutch for their own bigotry and racism. While others actually follow it's true path. And having people like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson spout their hate and lies only furthers this quagmire, because it draws those kind of people into their flock.
I know many christians, and many more who claim to be. It's not hard to spot the difference between the two.
