Internet, injury, house hunting, yard work, horse, babysitting - but no homework yet!! Yep, I the person who has complained numerous times how some of my bosses put things off until the last moment have procrastinated the homework and I guess I still am... Guess I have lost the right to complain about procrastinators...
We started the week looking at mobile homes as I have been considering putting one on this place rather than the constant repairs of fixing up this older home of mine. I just have a real problem with paying more for a smaller house than what I paid for my home and land together!! We have went to a half a dozen places in Texas and Oklahoma (I only let one run my credit just to know for absolute sure where I stand and I didn't want to go to one of those places that run you through 6 or so companies that count against you) By the time they start adding all the charges and that fun stuff I thought I was at a car salesman (nothing against you car salesmen out there, by the way, but you know the kind I mean) I think my taste is a lot higher than what I want to pay. I also look at if I can keep this hectic schedule of mine up I should be able to graduate in a year or a little over so I will be looking at a different job. Maybe getting a place before i make that move is not real smart anyway, so I'm still on the air in this one.
I managed to stab myself in the arm with a nail early in the week. I'm always cutting myself on wire and things and at first thought no big deal, except for the excruciating pain as a kind of fell over with the board. Within two hours my arm had doubled in size and by morning about triple. I called the doctor who send me to the ER. Got the tetanus shot and had to wrap it. I nicked a vein and it was infected faster than I ever saw anything go. I have a few bottles of pills to work on the infection and pain (I don't take the pain pills except two the first day). This is the first day I have been able to move the fingers, with all the heat wraps and meds the swelling is down a lot. My son has been wonderful to the point of irritating in following me around to make sure I don't do anything, kept it propped and so on... I appreciate his concern but he better than anyone should know I cannot sit around and do nothing...
I cut several trees in the wooded area - not that I would ever take my wooded area away I am just cutting the ones that won't grow to give a better chance to others. I love the deer and critters and this is their area so I don't want it flat, We are just making some paths and clearing out the dead stuff and things like that. Of course the "injury" put a damper on that.
Thursday we got the satellite in for internet. That is GREAT news for me as I won't have to spend late hours at work for research and fun.
And I bought a little horse. I prob. won't pick her up until next week as they agreed to hold her for two weeks (I was still seriously home hunting and wanting to make sure we wouldn't have to move a fence line) She is a smaller horse but very gentle for the grandkids to start on and still big enough for me until I find a second horse which I am in no rush about, of course. I have arranged with a friend to pick her up next weekend as I want her to come in when I have time to spend with her and I doubt there is much sense in waiting two weeks. I will prob add a few photos when she gets here.
And my grandson has been here since Wed so he has been riding in his battery jeep, we have been laying catch with the dogs and just hanging out. It has been a pretty good week for the most part - I just don't want to go back!! So much left to do. I will HAVE to do the homework when Gabe goes home this weekend. He is watching cartoons right now as it is still a little cool to go out and play. I think if I wrap my arm up tight I should be able to do a little more work while he plays as it is feeling quite a bit better and I can at least move it and my fingers again and it's almost to normal size!!!
Except for the stupid injury it has been a pretty good week. Wish I could have completed the novel (on my list) and a few other things but today is the first day I have been able to even type - but can't complain the time off has been WONDERFUL!!
