I am not an idiot. I am an adult. I can read. I assume the same about you.
So if you are contacting me and have a problem with my religious beliefs, that is your problem for you to deal with.
Yeah, probably I did read your profile and knew you were an atheist or Baptist or Mormon or Catholic or pagan or whatever and if I iniated contact, it was not because of that. I don't want to convert you - the only person who can ever "convert" anyone is the person who is "converted".
What you do is between you and God. Whether you are disrespectful or not about what I believe is between you and me: and that's going to be the determining factor in whether I want to talk to you or not, more often than not.
So don't contact me, especially first, and then flip out on me and go "You didn't know I was an atheist!" and act like I'm wrong to talk to you. If you didn't know I wasn't, that's your own lack of paying attention .. because, unless we are actively dating, or living together, or married, or you are burning crosses on my lawn, or whatever .. that's not my problem.
I'm not judging you.. except in the assumption that you are big boys and/or girls who can make up your own minds. If your mind is made up to contact people without reading their blogs or demanding to know their religious beliefs, then your mind should be made up to be open enough to handle most anything that comes at you that isn't threatening.
