We left PdC about noon on Thursday, and made it to my daughters about 1 am, Friday morning. I've made this trip alot of times, so I knew what to expect, but Matt didn't remember it as well. It was 2000 since he'd been down there the last time. My back was of course, killing me, and all I wanted to do was hug and kiss my daughter, and fall out somewhere. But we all know that when excited, it's hard to sleep, so, I didn't get to sleep until after 4 am. Cianna had to stay up all night to get the call from my daughter Carlee who was about 5 hrs behind me, so she could go meet them. They ended up coming into town around 8am. The trip down there was nice, just Matt and I. I was a little apprehensive about leaving Carah, my 15 y/o here by herself, but I knew my other adopted kids would be here with her. Her friends! Matt and I did some talking, but he had his mp3 player on alot of the time. He learned to read an atlas, and he did a VERY GOOD job doing it. He could estimate the hours between towns on the interstate. He was always pretty close to being right.
