Things have taken a decided turn for the wonky in MD Land .. and not necessarily in a good way.
People posting to argue points they are in agreement with the blogger about to start with.
People posting argumental points and then accusing other people of starting the argument
People posting inflammatory comments to prove that no one should get enflamed by them
That last one was me! You know how sometimes you think something is funny, you think people will understand your sense of humor, and you have that wild, almost tidal pull'esque, sort of drive to just post it . . post it .. come on ... nothing bad will happen ... .
But then there is that other little part that is almost drowned out yelling "no .. no .. they won't understand! You'll make them cry!"

Well, I had it last night. Guess which aspect won?

It's not just that, though.. sure I've been stupid on other days and not just when the moon is waxing, but the whole feel of MD is excitable, insane, like a few thousand people all gibbering at the end of their leash, eager to be allowed to type and create their mischief. More sexual, more violent, more thought-provoking, more self-expressive - which is the positive attribute of moon-madness, methinks.
Well, for anyone (or two, as the case may be and probably is ) whom I may have offended with my comments last night, I am truly sorry. It was a joke, with a point, but it fell flat and was obviously not a good idea.
Will it happen again? Probably, at some point. . the moon grows, the blood races, and the fingers they do type. Stupidity is a guarantee; but hopefully in a different form that is less offensive to those who so very much do not deserve it.

Well-articulated with modesty and honesty also! We're all guilty of saying more than we need to or unnecessary or stupid things. I do so often and literally wonder "what was I thinking and/or feeling to say that"! You're right- something pulling our emotions to say those things ie could be the moon or something...

I made a joke that involved telling two people to "fvck off" It was on another blog, it had a point, but I regretted it afterwards as being far too impulsive.
However, I was completely right about those two people and how lovely and understanding they are, that they do have a sense of humor and a big and lovely brain, and etc. So, thankfully, I'm off the hook.

My whole point was ... is that there are just some things not worth arguing about ... and though you say you are not a JW ... many of your writings, many of your responses ... are words of one ... you argue like one
not that I dislike you or anything ... in fact, I have seen your comments on many a blog and am right behind you - and perhaps would have stated the same words ... but other times, I am a little surprised at your language and comments also.

Ahh but no I would not. I would state facts as to why it's a perfectly valid thing to call God. You can call him whatever you like and it's between him and you if he likes it or not.
Here's a simple fact of life: I knew a girl who called me Aurora for months. Her mother got offended, made her quit, railed on me for allowing it, made the girl feel ashamed, she stopped talking to me and decided I was just making fun of her the whole time, and I lost a friend all because of someone else's assumptions.
I, the very imperfect being, was not judging her by her inability to remember my name correctly or say it correctly: I was just happy that she came somewhere close and stuck to it with consistency because, for the first time in my life, someone outside of my immediate family was speaking to me and I knew it was to me .. because she knew a name for me.
The word Jehovah is the name of God because it is the translation of what was his name that was hidden, in part, due to superstition and it is well established through use through hundreds upon hundreds of years. That is fact.
He responds to it, so do those who oppose him .That is observation.
If you have a problem with that, you can't argue with me about it .. you have to argue with God. Good luck on figuring out how to capture his attention to begin the argument, then, as you apparently don't have a name to address him by.
I'd suggest you at least make an announcement that it is to the one true God, the creator, that you are praying.. and you bloody well ask him how he feels about the name Jehovah: which means the same thing as he said his name means.
That is not argument. . that is fact, observation, and suggestion. And, quite frankly, I do not know any of Jehovah's Witnesses that argue about religion with anyone at all. I know plenty who speak their minds, though.. and I have seen many of them yelled at and sometimes seem them physically attacked for it. But that is not arguing, that is speaking your mind and being attacked. To say it is their fault is to be the sort of person who says about women who are raped "If they didn't want it, they wouldn't dress that way."
And no I don't say that none of them ever argue about religion .. but I haven't met one, yet, who does.

All I can say is that all of the techno stuff in my life, along with my emotions have been totally out of whack for the last 2 - 3 weeks now, don't think it is the full moon, more life global madness desending

Actually, as it turns out, I didn't offend anybody. Well, possibly the person who was whining, but that's an acceptable loss. I didn't offend the two people I was worried I might have .. because they are just as lovely as suspected!

You know, I have to check, as I remember someone asking me to delete their comment and at the time there was no way I was going to. Was that you? If it was, rest assured it isn't still there for the same reasons. . now, it's just part of history as are all mine, wherever they have landed. I wouldn't even know where to find it and I certainly don't go look it up and gloat .. if I did, I'd remember if it was yours or no. lol
If it is yours, and I happen to run into it, and it bugs you that much, I'll delete it. But I'm not going for hunting it down!

No Hopeful was not you. At least I don't think so..  .just some.. probably don't even mean to do it, maybe don't read there e-mails. This is one reason I wish we could keep tabs on where we comment, I forget and am lost after a few days unless I happen to run into it again.  Wouldn't it be great if we could see what we commented on without keeping a list!
