Say, have you read the "Blog Rules" yet? There's a tick-list of nine things not to do (and they're really pretty sensible...I'm not pickin' on the MatchDoctor staff.) I'm intrigued by #5 which states:

"If you post a joke you must tag it with "joke" and poems with "poem"."

You kinda start to wonder why that became a rule. Was there an unfortunate incident? Somebody read somebody else's poem and complained to the staff because it sounded like a suicide threat or something? I can kinda see how a reader could have that problem with jokes; an edgy sense of humor is often mistaken for something...darker.

Perhaps I should begin all my Blog entries with "Joke." You kinda have to know me before you can take me seriously.

Another thing that piqued my curiosity is this bit of advice (though it's not actually a Rule):

"Keep it interesting. Don't just describe what you did today. "

Darn! In my usual Blog that's pretty much ALL my posts! "I'm standing at the train station. It's not as chilly as it was yesterday, still, I'm glad I'm not just wearing bathing trunks." Some people actually do find this interesting (I seem to gain readers, gradually.) Hmph! Well, I s'pose I'll find out soon enough if my posts are too boring.

Heh heh...people certainly aren't going to be reading this because of my User Pics...because nobody's in a hurry to approve mine. I joined this site on Saturday and my profile still has "no photo" showing. Ah well, I'll just go into "patient" mode: a form of mental hibernation that fortunately doesn't require cold weather.

Well ... you did better than me, lol. I committed a major faux paux one day b/c I only skimmed the rules ... yeesh, taught me to slow down and read it ALL.

And you're not the only one who writes about daily life ... but my blogs don't snag a lot of interest except the one about my accident at work.

I like the way your write, so keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your blogs.

my take on those "tags"! They use those and words you type to put advertisements on your blog page! When you click on one of those ads.....from time to time.....and you should.....it helps these guys to pay for our blogging for free!

just my take!

Hey Ed...

>Are your pic's a joke or a poem

Good question! Some folks would say one thing, some would say the other.

If the former, I sure hope they provoke good-natured laughter; if the latter, I hope they rhyme.

Hey First:

>They use those and words you type to put advertisements on your blog page!

Sounds like a fine idea! Though it's just one more reason to make sure my blog posts aren't too naughty...

>it helps these guys to pay for our blogging for free!

And for that I am grateful! You've sold me on the idea of clicking on those ads, provided I see something that interests me.

Hey Mint:

>my blogs don't snag a lot of interest except the one about my accident at work.

Darn! I almost never blog about work, so bang goes MY potential readership. Ah well...

>I like the way your write, so keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your blogs.

Bless your heart! Going by my usual habits, I'll probably post again today (first rush of excitement and all) and then settle down to an update every three or four days. Heh heh...if it turns out I can post from my Blackberry, it'll be more like every other day, but with tons of tedious "I'm waiting for the train" nonsense.

Oh yeah, watch for posts when I mention I had to take Benedryl for my allergies; I'm prone to mild (but amusing) hallucinations on those days.
