I love that imagery of a strong man's hands tenderly cradling something weak and helpless. It always made me weak in the knees to see my ex cradling our newborn son in his hands. I hope you get that same weak-kneed feeling.
Thank you sci, for sharing your tiny tale.

A cockroach with teeth? The mind boggles. I did catch the smile though.

A nice warm fuzzy happy enjoyable tale. Despite the sober and very true quote from George Eliot. If women bothered to educate themselves about what is really normal about men, it would improve their relationships 100%. It wouldn't be a warm fuzzy happy education, but at least it might put them in touch with reality.

I never knew so much about the red squirrel, just knew they
seemed so much more aggressive out in the wild, or maybe
its just the fact we can hear them when they get into squirmishes
on the roof or in the trees.Love the nickname though.."wee
spawns of Satan".For some reason it wasn't the red squirrels
that used to get into my bird feeders, although I would think with
their aggressiveness, they would be hard to divert like the grey squirrels.
So PMF is a good wee spawn of Satan foster father? LOL...
This is a good thing Martha!!! But I am not surprised as his blogs
or his comments on your squirrel blogs were very much in support
and fascination of what you do.It is a bonus to read about his squirrel
parenting skills with the imagery your words produced.

Reading this made me happy, too...
I'm currently raising a baby robin - people drop them off (birds) at my vet's and I take the overflow.
It's just great to know there are others offing tiny tidbits to tiny creatures...
